Went to start the 2001 s-10 i let go of the key to quick acts like the anti-theft kicked in..gas shut down and egnishtion wont kick on... get all the right lights just wont try to turn over...what can i do from here...figured it out once forgot to write it down

It is possible that your Anti Theft System is shutting those systems down.

Sometimes if it set too long the gas went bad. You may have to drain the gas and the put fresh gas in.

Hi Arkrios, It sounds to me as if the anti theft program of the alarm system has kicked in. I believe you'll need to get the system recoded. Regards John

1st of all Read Your owners Manual, Depending on the Radio you have in it will depend on the Alarm system . Also Completely Disconnecting the Battery Will Reset your Security System

Anti theft security has kicked in. Refer to your manual for resetting or remove the battery posts for 10-15 mins and see if it clears.Please let me know if this helps

The problem lies in the security feature that is part of the vehicle's anti-theft mechanism, but the big problem is that sometimes the vehicle automatically thinks that you (it's owner) are trying to steal it. When the security feature feels that the car is in danger of being stolen by means of the insertion f the wrong key (or what the car thinks may be the wrong key) it shuts down the fuel system for a period of 15 minutes. For this reason, when the security feature kicks in randomly, some mechanics are quick to assume that the problem lies in the fuel pump of the vehicle. one question will it even crank? or just turnover?

Go to the dealer and, have the anti-theft reset.

you have to take it to the dealer and get the anti theft module reflashed - most dealers charge around 95.00

Anti theft system. You might have a door lock causing the anti theft system to kick in. (thinking its being stolen.)

not positive but look in owner manual for a fuel pump reset button i had this problem at one time and that fixed it it is usualy under the dash area somewhere on the drivers side or in a kick panel (decorative cover on the side firewalls inside the cab)....good luck i hope this helps!
