My tail lights went out and i dont know what fuse
use a test light and check every fuse. ground the test light to a metal surface like the brake pedal bracket and touch the light pointer onto each fuse contact. on the fuses where it gives the amp # like 10, 15, 20. there are 2 little metal dots for this purpose check both dots if both metal dots make the light work ....it's good. But if only one dot lights and the other dot on the same fuse doesn't then that fuse is bad. Even if you find one still check all others.
1993 subaru imprezza 1.8 engine with 5 spd manual
Actually, there is no transmission in a manual shift. There is a clutch and a gearbox.I am not sure when they started putting fluid in the clutch sections but the fluid is red, just like transmission.I am not sure what color the gearbox oil is though because I've never had to open one. So,what I would suggest is to call a Subaru dealer,to find out if there is or isn't clutch fluid, what color the gearbox fluid is,and depending on what the answers are,you can conclude what you are probably facing. As for repair, when I have questions I do not know the answer to,I ask the dealer,a couple shops,or whatever it takes.I have a reliable mechanic who is always willing to answer me.Someone will give you free advice because it helps to attract future business.I have done it for years.Your problem is a little tough to answer because I would need answers to the questions at the top.But you seem mechanically inclined enough to do it,so I answer more questions from people with your capability than with people who say blinker doesn't work.If I can't fix it,I at least give my best possible advice. With so many makes/models/systems...that's why the name, icantry.
Hope I got you pointed right.Good luck! Greg
P.S.It really is amazing that people with much more simple problems on like a 2 year old car don't even think to call a dealer. There is so much free advice out there.

Under the drivers seat, in the b piller area on the floor. Check the RED wire at the power window switch and if it does not have power, then check the breaker and relay (relay is beside the breaker). If the sun roof works, the breaker and sunroof/window relay is good.
Check engine light stays on and have trouble
I would have the car's computer scanned or determine what codes are stored in the computer.
This will lead to a solution, I am sure.
If the check engine light is on, there may be a sensor that is out of range that is causing the hard starting condition.
Turn signals stopped working
most likely fuse, flasher relay, or mechanical problem in turn signal switch at steering wheel. Do emergency flashers work? also check bulbs and sockets for corrosion...
My windows on my 1993
if its just one window it could be the window motor / switch /window regulator but if its all of them its more likely a blow fuse or a bad relay check for blow fuses and you can check the relay by interchanging it with a know good one( for example if your horn works and the part number on the relay is the same as the window relay swap them and see if your window work the relay should be under the hood and the fuse box should tell you which relay is which
Turn signal (left or right)

ideally a fault code scan / diagnostic session is required but from experience i have changed loads of crankshaft sensors and camshaft sensors, these cause a lot of running issues and usually sort them when replaced. hope this helps

jack car up and remove the rear shaft retainer plate, 6 14mm bolts. use a 12mm spanner to remove the 4 nuts and bolts on rear of tailshaft and front, take the shaft out completely, check for play in the front yolk of the diff, there should be very minimal play, if there is alot of play or worse your getting rotations then the front bearing is gone and will need replacing, you can get the whole diff centre fro about $260 from sunbury parts in qld. cheaper and quicker option, make sure the gear rations are the same.
