When fitting a replacement ECU 89560- B1190 to a 2006 Daihatsu Sirion 1.3 does it have to be reprogrammed or something?
Simple answer is Yes, It will need to be programmed to you specific vehicle so it knows details like what version of the engine is fitted, Which transmission is fitted and whether it is a manual or an automatic. It will also need to be programmed so your current ignition keys will be recognised and allow you to start the vehicle.
Unfortunately this might be a Dealership Only job so it's likely going to be expensive. Contact 4 or 5 mobile Auto Electricians and get their advice. One of them might be able to do it for you at a lower cost.
I bought a sirion but no key how do i buy. Pass. The immobiliser
Do you have all the original paperwork from the dealership for the vehicle? If not, it will be a harder fix. The original 'new car' paperwork included an access code for the immobiliser system. If you don't have this you'll need to go a Daihatsu dealership with your vehicle details. Take the make, model, reg number, engine size, fuel type and the VIN number. They will charge you for it.
Once you have this code you have a couple of choices. Both involve getting a new key cut.
The dealership can cut you a key that is guaranteed to work but they charge a silly price for it, (£210 for a single Vauxhall Astra key).
There are smaller, (cheaper), companies out there who can cut you a key if you have that access code. You'll have to search around for these companies and get a quote from more than one!!
Check engine light
We use to have a car that did this when it needed a little more oil. Just thought I would mention it to you.
