1. Make sure you have all the switches in the right place (kill switch..etc..)
1. With the key off - Take a screwdriver and jump the two big threaded connectors on the solenoid - the engine should turn over... if it doesn't - either the solenoid is bad -or you have no connections to the battery and/or starter. If it turns over, now turn the key on and see if it starts.. it should.
If this works.. the problem is probably the starter button.

If not...double check ALL the connections to the battery/solenoid/starter... you have probably left a wire off somewhere..( we have all done it!!)..make sure the right wires are in the right place...

I have a honda rincon that will not run unless I hold the starter button in and I need to know if you can tell me what the problem is ?

STOP holding the starter button down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. Its NOT really running..
My first guess is the starter needs some TLC..a professional rebuild..they are not hard to do.
Diagnosing electrical issues over the internet is hard... I will think on this some more and repost if I come up with anything..sorry..

My Honda rancher ES has a starting problem. When I push the starter button nothing is happening. No click. The gauges light up so I know I have power.I feel like it is some sort of electrical problem

Hey Leonard,
Take your battery to O'Reilly, Autozone, Advance Auto and get the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) checked.. this is a load test.. and the only way to get a battery checked to find out if its really good.
Make sure the battery connections are CLEAN and tight.
12+ volts will make the lights work.. but it takes amperage to make the engine starter work!!
Do this and repost/respond on here..

ATV will not start battery seems to be ok as lights are bright when turned on when key in on position.

What clicks is the solenoid for the starter. I pushes the starter gear into the flywheel, then the starter motor is supposed to spin the flywheel and it starts. If you hear the click, but nothing else happens, there is a good chance that it is the starter itself. Check the wires going to the starter and make sure that the red one is 12 volts. The black one should go to ground. If it has 12V on it, then it is the starter motor. If it DOESN'T have 12V, then the problem is that power is not getting to the motor.

THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMINTANT . A 2005 HONDA RINCON POWER TO IGNITION SWITCH GOES DEAD OCASSINALLY. ONE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THE BATTERY. IS THIS POSSIBLE?

First check the battery connections are good, then make sure the battery is fully charged, check the fuse on the ignition system is good. Sometimes fuses partially blow and are affected by the temperature making it work intermittently.
