1. Never jump start an ATV, Motorcycle, UTV..etc from a automobile! The amperage is TOO high, you can damage a lot of expensive electrical components!! ..very quickly!
You cannot home trouble shoot without a new battery or fully charged battery with good solid clean connections!!
2. Have the battery tested or simply buy a GOOD new one!
3. Does the starter spin at all? Is there a clicking noise when you push the start button? No - solenoid is bad(?) . you can check this by jumping the two large connectors on the solenoid... A good screwdriver works well...(CAREFUL - SPARKS WILL FLY!) If the starter works while jumping, the solenoid is bad - just replace it (disconnect battery while replacing).
4. If the start spins while "jumping" and nothing happens the starter may need rebuilding if the new battery/fully charged battery/jumping solenoid does not expose/solve the problem.
Do this and repost.

Your solenoid is bad on your starter thats what engages the gear to kick out to make contact with the flywheel. . May have to replace the starter if you can rebuild it.

The starter has to throw it's gear out using centrifugal force. The speed of the starter has to be enough to overcome the spring inside. It is either a little seized and needs to be rebuilt and greased up, or the battery isn't powered up enough to get the right speed to engage properly. In that case clean the battery posts and clamps well, then charge or replace the battery. To know if the battery is bad wait till it is charged... if it still doesn't engage try again with booster cables from your car etc. and see if it suddenly works fine.

Why won't the display screen on my 2008 400 Arctic cat turn on and why will it not start from the green button?

Check the charge on the battery, should be at least 12.6 Volts DC, then look for loose or corroded connections, starting with the battery cables.

Will not turn over. replaced solenoid and battery is new. Lights, and power OK. Too weak to pull cord to manually start.

You need to try and find someone to try the manual start, just to rule out anything past the auto switch such as starter. If battery is new and solenoid is new then it's probably either the switch or could even be a fuse in the link.

The starter engages and starts the motor fine when the motor is cold. however if you ride and try to restart the starter just spins and you can only start using the kick stater.

Arctic cat 400 won't start. Starts if you hold down starter button then cuts off when you let off the starter button.

You will burn the brushes in the starter out if you continue to do that. Try adjusting the idle screw in a little. It's probably on the carburetor.
