I have a fairly old
Hi, I dont think you need drivers for this, if connections are all ok, and its powered up and spinning up, it should show up as an external hard drive on your computer as, C: D: E:, or whatever.
Do not just unplug it to remove it, click on "removing external drives" first.
Hope this helps.
Old Quantum IDE Drive (85 meg)
Hi walter, that usually means the first few sectors are bad(they are the important ones) or, the drive has a faulty motor/ is drawing too much current. There are two things to try. if you have a CDrom drive then boot a clean OS eg windows 98/XP from cdrom, or whatever os you were starting on that drive. you might then be able to access the hard drive from the command prompt or from the windows os on the cd in which case its just a few bad sectors that may be repairable by diags. Alternatively download burn and then boot a Hard Drive Diagnostics disk such as Hitachi(IBM) DFT. see it here the 2720K image https://www.hgst.com/support/hard-drive-support/downloads/legacy-downloads run a quick test and that will definitely indicate the true problem.

Windows 2000 won't recognise my current HD driver
you cannot up grade from win 98 to win 2000
There is too big a gap in technology to allow it to happen
you have to remove the win 98 operating system and install the win 2000 operating system
That basically means re-formatting the hard drive so save all files and folders to an external storage facility
once you install win 2000 the driver will be installed automatically
When installing a Maxtor Quantum Fireball Plus AS
DS=drive select meaning selected drive by the bios CS=Cable select meaning if you hook it to the second plug so set the jumper to CS and hook drive to the second cable if its is ide drive which that is what it sounds like the drive is!!
How far apart do i plant the photinia fireball
The mature spread is about 4-5 feet. If you want them to be single shrubs, plant accordingly, but if in a hedge like format, around 3.5-4.5 feet. REMEMBER: the plant may be small now, but you have to give it room to mature.
