Barrel won't turn

by barrel I take it you are talking about spindle? This might be the version that has an internal clutch mechanism that would require you taking it in for service. If not there is a shear pin in the spindle that might need replaced. Hope this helps

My milwaukee hammer drill spins when trigger is pulled but many sparks from where brushes are along with a lot of electric burnt smell.

Change the brushes. The brushes have worn into the armature. I have had the same issue and that can usually fix the issue. But if armature is too far gone, the drill may be D.O.A. and time for a new one. Christmas specials are all over the place at a lot of local places that sell tools. Get on line and shop around should you want to replace instead of repair.

1 3/4 milwaukee hammer drill speed slows down after 3 seconds

2 possibilities...if it is battery operated the battery may be damaged or will not hold the charge so u will have to change the battery. The other is the brushes for the motor needed to change or the contact may be dirty

Milwaukee drill makes noise but don't turn on outside

What model is the drill? Can you see into the drill through the cooling vents - if so, you should be able to verify that the motor is truly spinning (Armature, cool fins) or it's just making noise. If it is spinning you most likely lost a gear from the Motor to the Chuck or the bushing that connects the Motor to the chuck (Every manufacturer is different) - Time to take the halves apart and inspect.

Milwaukee 18volt cordless drill pull trigger motor bogs. Pull trigger motor speeds up and bogs down again, could it be bad switch or motor?

Most likely it is either dirt or a burned spot on the armature of the motor. I would try blasting it with air to see if you can clean it out. If that doesn't work then it probably needs to be torn down to either clean it or replace whatever is damaged.

How to unlock the chuck

this how to get a chuck off a drill.look inside the chuck for a screw. it will be a left handed screw.once you get the screw out put the chuck in a vice . you will need to squeeze it very tight. then put the drill in reverse and pull the trigger.if i wont come off you will need to hit the chuck with a hammer while you are holding the trigger. if you have a bit stuck in the chuck and cant get it out put the chuck in the vice and hit it very hard with a hammer until the chuck falls apart.i work on drills every day ,this is the only way we have found that works

When using my milwaukee m18 magnum drill halfway through drilling a hole the drill stopped as if the battery were dead

Dear Chris Kelliher, Hi, According to your explanation, i guessed that the electronic circuit for driving the motor of drill, has gone off. In such a case, the motor is either driven under variable frequency drive system, Power transistor (FET, IGBT may be used) or SCR control circuit. under the cover of drill there is an electronic circuit, which may be damaged. It should be rectified by some technical expert. here is a link of services provider, https://www1.milwaukeetool.com/PartsAndService/Repair/Default.aspx?chrome=false If you are unable to reach the service center just download the form from the link above an fill it and shipped your part to the related company with free shipment. If you can check it personally then check it. i will guide you whatever possible. Service Milwaukee Tool

Milwaukee 2601-20, pull trigger, light comes on but chuck won't turn. It seems as though the chuck moves slightly but that's all

Is the charger working properly? Do you have any other M18 tools you can test the battery with? If the batteries are ok - these drills have micro-controllers in them (they also "drive" the battery guage LEDs). Short of taking it apart...not much you can do. Supposing it was apart - there's lots of videos on YT that show you how to check for cold solder joints, wiring problems, defective switches or controller boards.
