E:91:01 in DSC-W80

I can't recall all the Sony error codes off the top of my head, but I believe E:91 is that your flash is not working.

Can you take pictures at all or do you get just the error code? If you can take a picture with the flash off then your flash needs to be replaced.

If you can't use the camera you need to first press the reset button, then reset all camera settings to default.

1-3. PROCESS AFTER FIXING FLASH ERROR
When "FLASH error" (Self-diagnosis Code E : 91 : 01) occurs, to prevent any abnormal situation caused by high voltage, setting of the flash is changed automatically to disabling charge and flash setting. After fixing, this setting needs to be deactivated. Flash error code can be initialized by the operations on the HOME screen.

Method for Initializing the Flash Error Code
Initialize
Initializes the setting to the default setting. Even if you execute this function, the images stored in the internal memory are retained.
1 Select [Initialize] with v/V/b/B, then press z. The message "Initialize all settings" appears. 2 Select [OK] with v, then press z. The settings are reset to the default setting.

To cancel the resetting
Select [Cancel] in step 2, then press z.
· Make sure that the power is not disconnected during resetting.

Hope this helps.

Error E91:01 on DSC H7

If the camera works in all other respects, then that has something to do with the flash setting or some other setting in the menus. But this sounds like something with the flash directly.

Here is a link which may be able to help on the DSC H7: http://www.aakatz.com/whitepaper/whitepaper/appendix2.htm

Try also to reset all the menu setting back to what it was for the factory. Most digital cameras have a setting for that, and usually is something like "RESET ALL" or something close to that.

If nothing works, then the camera needs repair. This is an error to do with the flash only, it appears. So some of the internal parts could be weak, thus causing the error.

Flash does not turn on

A camera malfunction has occurred. Reset the camera, then turn the power on again.

Reset button is under battery lid.
