Hello there, My phone is Sony Ericsson 700i. Now when i turn it on it shows the starting sony ericsson logo then the screen goes white and it blinks constantly. Have to take out the battery to put it off. Never had any issues with it before. Been using it for a long time and dropped it only 2/3 times but long time ago. Please help me out here. If you suggest flashing with new firmware please give me the instruction as well. Never done this before but i will try.

unfortunately this seems to be a problem that happens to all sony ericsson z525a phones before too long. (And it seems sometimes it happens on the anniversary of the expiration of any and all warranties)

I did finally arrive home and actually located the piece of paper with all the codes I could find at the time for a z525a...

I'll post them here and let you know that when I tried them on my phone (when the screen worked) they did exactly what they were supposed to. You can test the screen...but only if the screen is working.

Unfortunately none of these codes will work if you have a phone with a blank screen...

To check the IMEI# = * # 06 #
Secret Service Menu= > * < < * < * (< is left, and > is right)
To reach last dialed numbers= 0 then #
Info about Simlock= < * * < (use with caution)

again...none of these seemed to fix the problem of the blank screen...but if you should get another z525a you can use these commands to do what they're listed to do....until the screen goes blank....

if your phone still receives calls and messages the LCD is the problem..but if it does not boot the program is the problem..have your phone reprogrammed at the nearest cellphone repair center..

Try removing the battery overnight. Then the next day put in the battery and try turning on again.

Dear alexlewis, the problem is caused by either software or hardware. The proposed solutions for both are the following.

Software: The phone needs to be flashed with the firmware of the same or newer revision with the appropriate FS and language packs. This is complicated for an average user. If in warranty it can be done for free at any SE repair service center. Remember if you are in the EU the warranty is 24 months by law.

Hardware: The phones Motherboard is defective and a replacement motherboard is needed. This repair can be done only in a SE repair service center. Another possibility (minimal) is the flex LCD cable (If you know how to repair phones the LCD Flex cable costs 5 Euro delivered from Hong Kong or China at Ebay)

TIP: I have seen this happening in many phones and most of them were hardware faults. (70%)
