I just purchased a new car and it has the CDA Alpine 9833 deck in it. I have tried and tried to fiddle with the buttons but I cannot find a way to adjust the treble, or bass.
There is no straigt forward bass and treble adjustment. You must adjust in either the (x-over) or (users EQ) function. It is a bit tedious but performs the bass and treble adjustments at multiple frequencies.

check the devices volume level. I had the same problem with my phone. Every time i plugged it in the phone volume level would go down to about half way. hope this helps
If you go to Alpine's website (www.alpine-usa.com) and click on Support, one of the options is for Owners Manuals. You put in your model number and voila!
Remote turn on lead shorted to audio intterupt lead? I would just hook up power and ground to the 9833 and see if problem goes away. If not is must be internal to the 9833. If problem goes away i would double check wiring. Good luck that is a sweet cd player.

sometimes the rollers that pull it into the deck get oil on them from our fingers and then they wont grab the discs, id try to pop the front off and clean them with alchool and a qtip
If the radio was still plugged in when you cut it (such a BAAAADDD idea....) it likely shorted the data pins to the power pins which fried the AI net processor. There is no fix for that. It's toast.
