I suspect you have a failed main power supply, this model may not be well-protected against brownouts or surges.
The main supply is usually a separate board and if you remove the lower rear panel, look for a board that seems to be related to the AC line and has larger components than the other boards. Some of them will be cylindrical and others block-like.
Look for a board number since this is a component that is often outsourced and may not be from the same manufacturer in every set. Call the nearest service center to inquire about repair or replacement costs

T V turns on, can't get the HDMI to appear on the screen for the signal.

HDMI is the High Definition Media Interface PORT on the back of a modern Flat Panel TV or Monitor.
The remote control should allow a selection menu to appear on the screen so you can choose an alternate signal input from another device or set top box.
Perhaps the TV senses that there is no signal on that HDMI cable plugged into the back port, so therefore it won't show it on the screen menu.
Turn on the device attached to the other end of the HDMI cable.

from user manual troubleshooting section
(When connecting D-Sub cable) Check the signal cable connection. (When connecting DVI cable) If you still see an error message on the screen when the monitor is connected properly, check to see if the monitor status is set to analog. Press Source button to have the monitor double-check the input signal source.

Source button Activates a highlighted menu item.
/ Push the 'SOURCE', then selects the video signal while the OSD is off. (When the source button is pressed to change the input mode, a message appears in the center of the screen displaying the current mode -- analog or digital input signal.) Note : If you select the digital mode, you must connect your monitor to the graphic card's port using the DVI cable.

My TV signal source is a cable/satellite digital box. The setup screen correctly takes me as far as "Select correct input source for set top box." At this point - instead of leaving the...

I would suggest using dedicated input button on remote, not the menu on the tv. If you can skip setup screen that would be best. I have just looked at the manual for that tv, it tells you all you need to know, depending upon which input you used for your box. As I stated use the direct input button on the remote if you have it.

No Picture

Turn off the TV, unplug it if possible and wait 10 minutes and plug it in and turn it on.
If you still have the bliue screen and are feeding the TV with cable or antenna there may be a signal problem or digital signal level problem.
If you still have a blue screen and are feeding audio and video seperately in could be a cableing problem. If not there may be a video input menu item that was changed. You would have to check the menu items.

Yellow line on left side of screen-

If this is only happening on one input like your cable input and the dvd player is working great on a different input, then the issue can possibly be signal related and not a problem with the tv, if this haapens on any input you are watching, check to see if it affects the menu if it does then your looking at a Logic board issue, if it doesn't affect the menu but happens on multiple inputs then you have to replace the signal board

Not likely - - there is nothing on the remote that would cut-off the signal, unless you have selective inputs and you were not viewing the correct one. However, "cable" CH03 is correct if your satellite is attached to the screw-on "F" connector in the back of the Tv... When you press menu on the reciever does a menu appear on-screen??
