they put it on there scanner, if i take neg then pos battery off put back on pos then neg,,reset pcm it works for a bit the theres power lost. I was told theres a short in the ground, its one single wire ,,tan and blue going straight to pcm. the red goes everywhere,,but with key on red wire give 12 volts. the black,,power ground breaks off and is kinda hard to check under manifold i tried just putting the power ground new wire right to good ground but i think theres a problem somewhere along the way?

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

Have you tried swapping the PCM? It may have busted capacitor that's why the maf is not working properly. Please do check the PCM for burn, you may need a PCM replacement just incase it's faulty.
Please keep me posted on the progress.

Have a good one and thank you for using FixYa!

Help with no power after 5 minutes 1994 ford ranger automatic 4.0 litre

Are you saying the maf sensor is new? Did you check the wire connector and wiring before you replaced it? When you unplugged it, the computer may use a default value? The red wire is battery voltage, check for voltage, key on. the black wire is ground, You can use a test lite connected to battery voltage, touch the black wire terminal, if the lite comes on, at least, the ground is good enough to turn on the lamp. The lite blue wire with red tracer is signal return, that is a ground that goes to computer. Use a computer safe test lite, maybe an led. Usually they don't recommend a 12 volt test lite for a ground that goes to computer. The tan wire with lite blue tracer is maf signal to computer. Key on engine off, less than .7 volts. koer--.2--1.5volts depending on the idle.
My database is probably not the best, any colleague that has better info is certainly welcome to post, have a good day.

On the 1995 tahoe the female plugin is three wires two orange and one black when pluged into the power seat plugin that is 4 wires to the seat swich the sear switch turns into a 6 wire to the 3 motors the...

The switch reverses polarity depending on which way you want the seat to move. The dark blue with tan wire and the tan wire are the two wires that control the seat forward and rearward motor. With the switch in the forwar position there should be power on the tan wire and ground on the dark blue with tan wire. With the switch in the rearward position it will be just the opposite. There will be power on the dark blue with tan wire N the tan wire will now be ground. This is the same for the other two motors. The rear tilt wil be the dark blue and dark green wires. The front tilt will be the yellow and light blue wire.

New Blower Motor, Resistor, Relay, Switch, all is new. Still nothing works. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please Help me out. HINK1974

There are two fuses a 40 amp in the power distribution center and a 10 amp in the fuse block. Are they good?

This is a ground side controlled system meaning the switch provides ground instead of power. With everthing plugged in there should be power on all the wires coming out of the blower motor resistor ( brown w/ tan, Light Blue, Light green w/ black, and tan wires). If you ground any of those wires the blower motor should run. If it does check the dark green wire at the HVAC control head. Backprobe that wire with it plugged in if there is power than either the control head is bad ( the mode switch has the final say in the path to ground for the blower motor. When the mode switch is in the off position the blower will not work. When it is in any other position (vent/floor/defrost) it allows the path to ground for the blower motor to be complete.

The last thing to check is to make sure the black wire coming out of the control head has a good ground. That is the final path to ground for the blower motor.

My maf sensor pigtail was cut and stolen. I purchased a new pigtail from ford and I need to know the color codes so I can intall a new one. my vehicle is a 2004 ford f-150 lariat with a 5.4 liter engine....

As long as you are talking about the new body style ( 3V 5.4 L )

The module is the MAFS and the IAT sensors

The IAT section is :
PCM to IAT is Gray wire
The return to the electronic engine controls from the IAt is Gray w/ REd stripe wire

The MAFS
PCM to MAFS ( MAF ) is Light Blue w/ Red stripe wire
The MAF return on the PCM is Tan w/ Light Blue stripe wire
The ground ( same as the Charge motion control valve ) is Black w/ White stripe wire.

2002 chev avalanche mat sensor

I assume you are looking for the wiring for the IAT because MAT sensors are no longer used..

here you go

black / white - PCM ground
pink - fused 12-volts
yellow - MAF signal
tan - IAT sensor signal
black - IAT sensor ground

manifold temp. sensors are no loner used.

I believe you are looking for the IAT "intake air temp sensor" which is part of the mass air flow sensor.

good luck
