  • theguitarmac Jun 14, 2011

This would be helpful if i had onboard video,as i dont, this graphics card refuses to be detected, and is causing alot of problems,so i had to uninstall it and re-install my old one,and the old one was detected straight away, slots on the( his) card are different.Three notches, instead of one.

Hook monitor cable back to your onboard video port then 1st make sure you have already downloaded the driver for your new graphics card. then at start up go into system setup and go to your display and make sure that you have your new graphics card enabled as your primary graphics instead of onboard video. it will say something like 1.Onboard 2. AGP/OR PCI MAKE SURE YOU DONT HAVE YOUR ONBOARD ENABLED AS YOUR PRIMARY VIDEO. AFTER THAT JUST SAVE AND EXIT THE JUST HOLD POWER BUTTON DOWN TILL PC SHUTS DOWN THEN SWITCH YOUR CABLE MONITOR CABLE FROM THE ONBOARD TO THE AGP/PCI CARD THEN RESTART YOUR PC. THEN YOUR PC WILL SAY FOUND NEW DATA AND WILL INSTALL THE DRIVER YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED FOR IT THEN YOU SHOULD BE OK IF THE CARD IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE MOTHERBOARD

When I plug in my Gigabyte Ati Radeon 2600 graphic accelerator in HP dx2300 computer I cannot boot win xp. There is no signal at all at monitor. There is no activity of hdd.

Boot the Windows in a safe mode and u8ninstall all the graphic drivers already installed - whether of on board graphic card or some other card and then restart windows & install the drivers for your HD2600XT.
Please do not forget to disable the on board graphic in the bios of the motherboard - after uninstalling all the previous drivers.
Good luck & happy viewing!

Ati radeon graphics

Um, well, I think you'll get them at ATi's website. If you have the card pre-installed in the computer when it was out of the box, then you can even find the drivers on the manufacturer's website, along with those of all your devices that came with it.
