I have no display after installing a flashed radeon x800 xt in a mac g4 digital audio running leopard 10.5.6. Computer boots and everything is running but no display
I am using a standard monitor connected by a VGA cable directly to the card. I have taped pins 3 and 11 and the computer fires up fine, along with all drives and fans (including the x800's fan) but no display. I also understand that I need a DVI to VGA adapter because the DVI is not supported.

Did your mac have integrated video, or have you plugged the monitor into the video card? If it did have integrated video, the video card, and not your motherboard, needs to be what the monitor is plugged into.Did your mac have integrated video, or have you plugged the monitor into the video card? Hi Bobby You will need to get an OS X installation DVD. Try eBay.Don't go for anything lower than 10.4 (Tiger)10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard) should run fine on this machine.Don't bother with 10.7 or 10.8
The problem appears to be that your ibook is only a G4 processor snow leopard needs an intel processor. The highest system you can instal on it is 10.5 i.e. leopard.
It seems that snow leopard is only installable on macs with intel processors, and yours is PowerPC.
see more here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html
Here are the minimum specs your Mac will need to run Leopard, from Apple:
Intel, G5, or 867MHz+ G4 processor
512 megs of RAM (though if you only have 512 megs of RAM you should get some more. Trust me, I'm a pundit)
DVD drive (Leopard is shipping on a DVD, and your Mac needs to read it to be able to install it)
9GB
of free disk space (though I bet if you customize the install and leave
out all those printer drivers and extra languages you can save lots of
space)
Go to your apple menu, and look on the "about this mac" If your machine doesn't have the mhz's you are out of luck. If you don't have a DVD drive, you are not going to be able to install either... K
Have you loaded the driver for the Pod? The driver settings are accessed throught the Audio/Midi settings on the Mac. (Audio/Midi Setup) NOTE: The Line 6 software is not supported in Leopard
Found this on the net: http://www.brad-x.com/2007/10/27/howto-leopard-install-with-giga-designs-g4-upgrade/
Those upgrade cards always have given me a problem with migrating to Leopard. If you can upgrade to a used G5 or even Intel basd mac you might be more happier with less hassle.
I have the same card and many of the same issues. I got an RMA number and had to contact ATI after "Clear Business Days" to get a status report. Having finally gotten a response, I find out that it will be 10 to 12 WEEKS before the card comes back.
Knowing what I know now, I would not purchase this card again.

yes thanks, I have installed all necessary drivers
