I have an old Grohe tap system throughout the house. Not sure the model or make number, but its over 15 years old and is apparently one of the original Grohe separate mixer-from-tap systems. Painter cream-yellow colouring - not chrome. Still a good system but dated. The problem is that I can't get hot water in any tap or shower system elsewhere in the house unless I simultaneously run the tap in the bathtub. For example if I want hot water in the kitchen, I need to run the hot water tap in the bathtub as well. It seems that cold water is mixing with the hot somewhere in the system.Turning on the hot tap in the bathtub seems to compensate for a cold water leakage into the system and rendering the kitchen hot water tap lukewarm. The hot water system checks out ok and the plumbing seems fine. Is it possible that the mixer in one of the other taps is allowing cold water to run back into the system. Has anyone had this problem? I have had this problem since we moved in and I imagine it existed before that as well. I just wanted to know if it is the mixer or if it is a plumbing problem. I tend to think its the mixer because no major plumbing has been done since the tap system was installed many years ago.

It sounds like it is overheating or it thinks it is overheating. Check the temperature of the water that you pull off with a digital thermometer. It may need a new temperature thermistor. It may also have a pressure sensing gauge.
The LED will flash red. When the child lock is activated the LED shows a constant red light. ... The GROHE ChildLock LED is automatically reactivated when the GROHE Red function is not used for 5 seconds. The system also activates the potfiller function - press the lock icon for a second time and the LED will flash yellow offshore hosting
Yes the mixing valves do wear and give out........I had to put a micron filter in the input line to the hot water tank and solved the promlem for around 8 tears now. knock on wood....Hope this helps.
hey,
Check your button/s panel, check that the hoses are connected firmly.
Disconnect the hose and blow air through it, does it work now?
If it works ok, you need a new buttons panel. (or fix it).
If problem remains, you need to disassemble the pneumatic valve and check / clean/ repair it.
Look at this guide that might help you. though it is not the exact model, principle is the same.
Have fun

I solved the problem by unscrewing the part of the handle which attaches to the "pullout" braided cord. There was another strainer in there which has some debris which was blocking the water flow.

hi in the 1st instance if you cut off some of the hose it will never hold on, so to save further probs i would get a new hose, go to the grohe website & you should be able to view ones that better match your existing one. otherwise you will just get frustrated everytime it comes loose or falls off!
