If you have broken a cylinder head bolt, you then need to remove the cylinder head. After it's off, if there is enough bolt remaining above the block deck, generally you can grab it with vise grips and take it the rest of the way out. If it's broken flush with the deck, drill into the center of it and drive a torx bit into the hole. Most times you can back it out using the bit on a wrench. In very rare cases, if the bolt still will not come out, you can drill the entire bolt out and install an appropriate sized helicoil to repair the damage. (use drill and tap that comes in the helicoil kit to make sure it seats properly. it's best to make a guide for the drill bit to avoid moving the hole off center. An easy guide can be made by putting a bushing into the appropriate hole in the cylinder head with an accurately placed hole in the center that fits a long drill bit. Put the head back on the block and drill. Remove all filings and debris when finished and do not permit any filings to get into any of the cylinder bores.
Replace all head bolts with new when re-installing the head.
They make extractors that you could try and use to remove it you have to drill a little hole and then insert the removal tool, but they make different kinds. Worse case would be have to remove the head and hope that there is enough bolt left to get vise grips or something else clamped on tight enough to remove the bolt. Or the bolt will have to be drilled out and the hole re-tapped. This last step should not be attempted by a novice, but can be done successfully.
