Hi, my friend recently gave me her Samsung Preston Icon S5603T which was on the Telstra network. I have an Optus simcard and when I put this in the phone, it told me it was locked. So I went to the Telstra shop and paid $28 for them to unlock it and they provided me with an unlocking code (they told me to go home, put the Optus simcard in the phone, it would ask me for the code, to enter the code and the phone will work.) When I put my Optus simcard into the phone it told me: phone freeze, sim unavailable. According YouTube, my phone should give me the option of calling my provider or pressing SOS, I do not have an SOS button. Now Telstra do not know what to do, can you please help?

you need first to have the phone unlock by taking it to a mobile store, then also have them firmware reflash on the phone.

the only way to unlock a phone is to call the original company andtell them u want it unlocked for international travel. using it for another co. is illegal though so be carefull!
