My breadmaker makes a clicking sound when started but does not knead.

There could be a number of reasons why your ABM 100-3 bread maker isn't beeping and won't go past the initial kneading stage.
You might try the following steps to solve the problem:

Verify the power source:
Make sure the outlet is working properly and that the bread maker is plugged in correctly.

Make sure the kneading blade is securely fastened to the kneading pan and that it is correctly positioned.

Verify the components:
Make sure the components are the proper temperature and quantity before adding them.

Make that the kneading blade is not jammed or otherwise blocked, as this could prevent the bread maker from progressing past the initial kneading stage.

Reset the breadmaker: Attempt a reset by unplugging the breadmaker from the power source, letting it sit for a while, and then plugging it back in.

Contact the manufacturer for more assistance if the aforementioned measures are unsuccessful.

The trapdoor feature on bread machines often malfunction. Once it starts happening the best thing to do is just add your raisins, nuts, etc. yourself about halfway through the 2nd knead. some bread machines warm the ingredients before any mixing starts. If your breamachine doesn't start mixing within 1/2 hour then you DO have a problem. Give it a half hour before you assume it is broken.

If your machine making a sound as if the elecric motor is humming or is it completely quiet?

You may have a broken belt (not uncommon) Unplug your machine, remove the pand and paddle and turn the machine on its side. See if you can remove the metal panel on the bottom of the machine. Once you do that you will see if your belt is broken or has slipped off. In cold weather many bread machines have to warm up for 15-20 minutes before they start. The clicking you hear is the heating element warming up.

If the ambient temp is below ideal some machines will heat up a little first before kneading. The clicking sound is the sound that all the machines make as they start to heat up. As long as it starts kneading within 15-20 minutes everything is OK.

Make sure the pan clicks into place before you start. Don't use more ingredients than allowed.

Most likely you need a new band I believe you can order one for $12.95 You need to remove the bottom panel and check the band first.

A lot of breadmakers function exactly as you describe functioning normaly. The heater comes on to warm the ingredients to about 110 degrees. This heating takes place for 10, 15, or 20 minutes before kneeding starts. [email protected]
