This is an easy one.
You hard drive has DIED.
Call or chat with Dell tech support and get a replacement drive

Since the system is less that a year old, you can request a replacement drive witht eh factory image on it too.

Put recovery disk in the CD drive. On reboot, hold down F12 key. You should get a choice of drives to boot from. Make sure the first two are in the correct order:
1. CD-ROM (optical drive)
2. HDD (hard drive)
then press F10 to save and exit.
Now the laptop should boot correctly from the recovery disk.

Remove the cmos battery and unplug comptuer for about 15 to 20 minutes. install battery working battery. make sure you didn't knock any cables loose
Check ram is seated
Check video and audio cards are seated properly
Then try booting pc.

Hi there
"Unmountable Boot Volume." means that the system 32 folder has become corrupt and probably you will have to recover the system.
If you have XP CD for a clean install, you have to change the boot order from within the bios (F2 on boot up) and tell it to boot from CD.
This will change the boot order and allow you to reinstall the OS.
Be warned that you WILL loose data if this is the only option open to you.
