SOURCE: i need to clean the blower part of my Mr. Slim ( the cylinder )

mr slim has this cover. just unscrew the whole cover and you've got the visible blower. the power supply must be turned off so there is no electic shock or accident that other person may turn the a/c. then there is this cover of the fan with a lock so unlock it and you can clean it throughly with a cloth.....

Mitsubishi electric Mr Slim wall unit heat and air. strange smell coming out when air is on, we cleaned filters, but do not know where the heat exchange is or the the fan to clean them

Ductless split systems are know for creating a mildew looking "stuff" on the blower wheel. Try to open/move the louvers on the front of the indoor unit. By opening the "osculation blade"/louvers, you can see the blower wheel, normally blue in color. See if it has some mildew growing on it. If so, I found that a tooth brush and about 2 hrs labor does some good. I've found some aerosol spray, called mildew removal. Works great at covering up/controlling the smell. It's also possible that the unit is pulling air from the condensation drain line. These lines can for algae, and give us a sour yuck smell. To clean, use a wet vacuum, and clean from the outlet of the drain line. Hope this helps!

How do you clean the fan blower on a Mr. Slim approx 10 years old.

Simple. Unscrew the front panel and remove the front cover. now its visable of your blower motor. take long toothbrush or tied with a stick, slowly brush your blower teeth. and then keep a news paper covering your indoor and switch on. All the dust will fall down not spread over the room. Refix the front panel and screw again. Don't forget to clean air filter too. Thanks.

Our mr slim has recently became very noisy. The motor whines very loudly when running. It sounds like a jet engine startring.

3 things come to mind:
1. something stuck in the blower section
2. motor bearings are failing
3. blower wheel welded connections have loosened

Fan roller and grey fins clogged with dust and mould

You can clean Blower wheel one of two ways. !st would be to remove the wheel and clean with the garden hose or if that is not a option for you then you can buy a can of compressed air and clean it that way but you will get a blast of dust and dirt when unit turns on. Make sure unit and/or power is of when doing this. Keeping your filter mainteneced more often will reduce the build up more.
