My 2002 minn kota riptide trollmotor( 75 lb thrust) just recently started spinning the same direction as it does in forward position when I engage it to the reverse position, once I turn the handle to forward it does as it should, but when I turn the handle to engage reverse the prop spins, but spins in the same direcion as forward motion? I have been unable to find much help else where, thanks

Have you inquired with a local dealer? Iam sure you can get one off internet.

check make sure its not wired backwards to batteries

There is more than the shaft, there is the housing and then everything needs to fit and have correct clearances.....I suggest sell the old one and get a 52 inch new one...

what handle, there is no handle.

max is 56amps on 24v system

1. possibly a broken connection to the motor where the propeller is located. 2. Also could be a bad motor. 3. Look for a fuse location for a possible blown fuse to the motor. 4. motor brushes could be the problem.

Here is a picture of the wire connection for 24 volt. Compare to yours is it correct? If it is, I wish you listed make and model I could of sent you the right picture diagram of you motor. Use this picture as a starting point. Test the wires through the motor testing for 24 volts. Again if I knew make and model I could show you exactly were. Last if voltage is correct all the way through. The motor is the last thing to tear down. If the brushes or armeture is damaged in anyway, or manufactured wrong, it would lead to power loss.
