There could be numerous reasons for this. What I would try in this order to help troubleshoot is this:

1. If you wiggle the power cord near where it inserts into the vacuum cleaner itself, does the vacuum turn on and off constantly? If so, you have a damaged cord or loose connections that need to be fixed.
2. Has the bag been emptied, and if the vacuum has a filter element, has this been cleaned? Vacuums may cutout if they get too hot. A vacuum can overheat if either the bag is full, the filter is blocked, or there are other obstructions to airflow, which cause the motor to work harder and draw more voltage, resulting in more heat. It may have a thermal cutoff which is tripping constantly. Solution is to ensure bag is not full, or less than 3/4 full, any air filters are cleaned and check for any other obstructions in the air flow paths.
3. Ensure the power supply is adequate for the vacuum. Try running it without long extension cords if you have been using those.
4. Check and clean the switch. Sticky or dust contacts on switches can cause variable cycling (cutting out and restarting).

Hope that helps!

My sebo x4 is overheating, no lights come on, appears to vacuum well but cuts out after about 10 minutes, motor area hot. What can I do?

Has the vacuum cleaner ever been disassembled and the casing/motor cleaned? There are a couple of drive belts and a stepper motor inside of the vacuum body, and it needs to have the stepper calibrated (it's a complicated unit). I found a youtube video of a teardown and service of the Sebo X4 -

The suction is not working

some machines have a 'safety' built in where if the belt is broken, other items like the lights don't work. Check and replace the belt first. It's also very important to keep the tubes that suck air unclogged, and clean the filters EVERY time you use it

Hi, I've just had my Sebo X4 back from being repaired (motor was growling so Sebo replaced it FOC under warranty) however, the replacement motor is 1000 watts. I queried this with Sebo, as they c

Watt= volts x amps So what are you losing? Not much really. Should they replace it with the same motor? Possibly, but you got a free motor out of them. To be honest I think you're splitting hairs on this one. The difference in how much cleaning that sebo will do with one motor vs the other is beyond minimal. The aggressive brushes on that vacuum do 95% of the carpet cleaning and both motors will have no problem turning it at sufficient speed. As far as suction goes I'd be amazed if it was even a noticeable difference. That's an amazing vacuum you bought, I wouldn't worry about it and go on with life.

My sebo cleaner keeps almost cutting out but comes back on again after a couple of seconds. I.ve checked for blockages and changed the bag and filters.

Sounds like a bad sensor or a possible loose connection electrically. If you are very handy with tools you could try taking things apaet but a dyson is expensive nso I would leave it to the pro's and take it to the local used vacuum shop. They give the best advice in these situations.

It just keeps saying that my bag is full and cutting out, bag not full and have tried changing it anyway, but still cutting out

I would check the air filter. It sounds like it's over heating and shutting off because it doesn't have good airflow.

My SEBO vacuum cleaner keeps cutting out which seems to suggest an dodgy electrical connection...any ideas ?

If it just cuts out then comes back on after a while, it might be overheating.

Sebo x5 vacuum cleaner

The full bag light comes on when it is getting full or a blockage in the hose or the dirt inlet by the brush roll. Other then that, there is a circuit board called the computer controller, part #5740ER and is giving you a false reading and causing a shut down.
