I have a samsung sp43w6hpx which started to mix colours and now it just goes to standby can anybody help please as its a good tv and i`d like it fixed

Look for 2 big black ICs they will have the Part number on them,example STK392-110
Mats Electronics has them replace Both ICs. 1-800-628-1118 also in front of ICs is 2 resistors low ohm 2.7 or 3.9 replace them.

try factory reset switch tv to standby the info menu mute red standby button go to reset wait few mins then swich on

this will reset all settings with tv in standby press INFO / MENU / MUTE / STANDBY on remote the tv will come on with a menu DO NOT CHANGE ANY OTHER SETTINGS only use down navagation key to move to were it displays reset then press RIGHT NAVAGATION key the tv will reset press standby to exit menu and then retune tv

Convergence is out. Go to service menu and set it.

HLP, HCN HL-S The Start-up Problem or/and

Unplug the set, pull out the lamp module (not all the way - leave it on the track) and push it back in.

Power issues (Tv not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.

Change the TV setting to PAL not NTSC

Yes you must go to menu and set the convergenge. It is easy. If it doesnt tune in or set to be ok you must get somebody to set convertions manualy thru service menu.

Toni, There is nothing short of calling a technician and letting the expert try and solve the problem. As you can see, setting the geometry on a grid in those can be challenging - years ago we had to do that with numbers only and do a quick math conversion to know how far we had pushed that line. The good news is it's probably not an expensive repair unless the changes have added any stress to the convergence circuit and caused any damage. in Monitor CRT Red-Blue-green cathode guns are there.. Mixing of these colour we can get the original colour chrominace technique. if any of the colour gun is faulty we would get more REad or blue or green picture. Measure RGB voltages. you can verfify which gun is faulty. if then check RGB processing circuits. Else there might be problem Chrominance colour decoder system. Contact service centre
