Each set of Microsoft Office CD's comes with a unique product key. The key consists of 5 groups of 5 combinations of letters and numbers such as WE567-SFD7U-SV67J-WWE7U-SGF5T. This key is printed on the package or the folder that contains the CD's. If you do not have your unique product key you cannot install Office on your PC. You will have to call the Microsoft Product Activation Center at 888-725-1047.
You will be asked if you are at your computer with the activation window open - respond with "YES" your will be asked for your activation I D - respond by saying "HELP", the message will repeat, respond by saying "TRANSFER" - continue to respond with "TRANSFER" until you hear "If you wish to talk with a specialist say transfer" again say "TRANSFER". You will then be asked if you have the activation wizard up on your screen - respond with "YES". Finally, you will be transferred to an activation specialist. You will have to tell him what happened to you original product key (lost it, accidentally destroyed etc.) and he may ask you for numbers printed on the CD . He will then tell you what you have to do to order a replacement product key.
You can also request a replacement product key from Microsoft Sales by calling 800-642-7676 and asking to speak to tech support.
