I put my phone on the charger & the screen went white & displayed the hour glass & has been stuck like that ever since. I even bought a new battery & it's still like that. It won't do...

try doing a battery pull if that doesnt work you'll want to run the application loader. i found steps on www.tmobile.com/forumsIf the LCD screen is white, blank or empty, a soft reset may need to be performed, or there may be an error with the display drivers and the OS will need to be re-loaded onto the device. Please follow these steps:

  1. Remove the battery from the device.
  2. Wait 15 seconds, then replace the battery in the device.
  3. Turn the phone back on.
  4. If the screen is no longer white and functions correctly, the issue is resolved.
  5. If the screen is still white, continue troubleshooting.
  6. Confirm BlackBerry Desktop Manager has been downloaded to the computer.
If BlackBerry Destop Manger is installed, skip to step 2. If not,

  1. Install Desktop Manager
  2. Backup your information using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager (recommended).
  3. Download and install the blackberry handheld software to your computer.
Note: Running the Application Loader will take approximately 15-60 minutes to complete.

***ALTHOUGH THESE STEPS ARE FOR THE BLACKBERRY 9700 BOLD BY TMOBILE, THE PHONE MODEL IS THE EXACT SAME AS THE BLACKBERRY 9000 TOUR, OR BOLD THROUGH AT&T****
thank you!!!
p.s. please also provide feedback that reflects the solution provided i.e. 3 or 4 thumbs! thank you!!!!

MY BLACKBERRY BOLD 9000 WON'T TURN ON!!! My friend gave me her Blackberry Bold 9000. It's battery was replaced a few months ago but it hasn't been used since then. When I plug it into the wall charger,...

Ok...don't panic. The charger you are using is not compatible. Verizon only works with verizon blackberry's. Non verizon will not work with blackberry and vice versa. This is what will happen. you plug it in and it will boot for a few seconds and then the lightning bolt you see is the charge icon and then a red line in it means that charger is not compatable. Blackberry does make its own charger but there is a "pin" on the plug in that will tell it it is not the right one. Am I confusing you?

My blackberry bold 9000 was fully charged. the battery ran down very quickly. now when you plug it up to the charger the red light alternates with a picture of a battery with a lightning bolt through it.

Dear user,
The battery problem is always happen with the mobile network selection ,
First you have to select proper network 2G or 3G , better you can keep on 2G
Follow the below instruction , how to change mobile networks,
1 screen menu
2 Option
3 Mobile Network è Network Mode 2G è save
I hope you can’t face this issue again

MY BLACKBERRY BOLD 9000 SOMETIMES DISPLAY WHITE SCREEN WITH MULTIPLE LINES THEN AFTER 15 MINUTES IT BECOMES OK

Hello,

Did the phone drop from you? anyway, the screen of your Bold 9000 is malfunctioning, i suggest you get a torx 6 screw driver by your side.

Turn off your phone, remove the battery cover and battery.

Turn the fone over and remove the front cover with your screw driver, pull off the front cover and afirm the LCD screen very well to the panel of the phone, recouple back to test, if it is still same thing, i suggest you change the LCD screen of your Bold 9000.

But if you can do all this, i advive you get a technician or somebody who can do it for you.

Best regards.

Blackberry Bold cannot charge and screen goes blank

1. You could have an OS problem or hardware issues.

Simplest first to troubleshoot the OS, by loading a newer, updated OS release.

http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-9000-series-discussion-bold/188088-latest-os-9000-4-6-0-451-4-6-0-266-multilanguage.html

2. If you can live without performing a backup of your device you can follow these steps to correct the issue:

1. Download the latest Vodafone UK firmware using this LINK (4.6.0.282)
2. Install the firmware onto your PC running BlackBerry Desktop Manager
3. Go to c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader and delete the vendor.xml file.
4. Connect your device and open Desktop Manager
5. When prompted select "Upgrade Now" (If you are not prompted select Applications Loader > Update > If your device isn't detected remove the battery and connect the device > once the update starts insert the battery again).
6. Follow the prompts and your device will be upgraded.
