Posted on Jan 04, 2011

I have a Pioneer CD/DVD Duplicator 8 drives. Recently no matter what disc I put in as the master. It tells me I have a mad Master Disc. Obviously all the media can't be bad. When this messgae pops up... the third drive door opens as if it is the master drive. Any Ideas?

The 3rd drive is the master now. If you want to change back to top drive, go to #8 "select source" and use up/down key change to " drive 1 " and save. for more detail, please read the user manual page 21 and 22.

For VPD system,if the top drive defected, the system should auto assign 2nd drive as source, but your system pick up 3rd drive as source drive, I suggest you check drive 1 and 2 before make copy.

Keep getting "Target Overflow" error message, even

you may have a bad ROM. If you have a multiple target unit, switch the source from the ROM to one of writers and try copying that way, if it copies then it confirms that the ROM is defective.
If you have a Single target unit, check your master disc under disc info, depending on which controller you have it should be under utility or disc info. Once in disc info it should tell you the size of your master disc, for DVD-R it should be under 4488MB, for DVD+R it should be under 4482MB. Then double check the master in the PC just to confirm.

HOW DO YOU MAKE AN EXACT DUPLICATOR ON THIS DEVICE

To Whom It May Concern:

Usually, to make exact duplicates on this device, you load your master disc (whatever you would like to make copies of) into the top drive, and blank disc(s) into the bottom drive and press the ENT button on the duplicator when the display reads "1. Copy". Hope this helps and if you have any more questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to contact us @ 877-686-8868 for technical support. Thank you for purchasing EZ Dupe products.

I put a dvd in the dvd rom and blank dvds in the other and hit copy and it goes to preparing and the says that the source is not ready.

The "Source Drive Not Ready" error message indicates a problem with your master disc. There is a function on the duplicator called "Prescan" on the duplicator that can check your master disc to make sure it s a "good" disc suitable for duplication.

Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, comments or concerns, please contact us @ 877-686-8868 x208 for technical support.

When i push copy on my DVD burner it says,Target Overflow, what do that means becouse it wont let me burn nothing its a[ TEAC 1 1 DVD/CD duplicator]

It happens to me also ALL the time with mine. I have a 7 disc duplicator machine I do for weddings and special events. And it's a real pain and costly to have that come up when you need the project done soon. My solution is to change the brand on the master disc. Burn another copy of the master disc on your computer to another brand and then use that brand as the new "master" in the duplicator. (1 sollution)

"Target Overflow" basically means that either sometimes the master disc has too much information on it to burn than the disc you want to copy can hold, or sometimes a CD may be in by mistake instead of DVD. If you have a Dual layer DVD disc you want to make copies of and you only have the basic 4.7GB standard DVD blank disc..it's not enough storage space on the disc to burn so you will see that error also. It should really say "not enough space to burn) lol..but I guess that's asking too much.

Sometimes all is correct with the DVD size and it'll come up for no reason (usually the master disc is still spinning and hasn't stopped but you've already pressed the "Copy" button, it's not "ready" so an error of "target overflow" will come up)

I've had mine for 6 years so I've done alot of testing and trial and error to come to the above conclusions.
I find that these brands work for the best "thorough" burns.

When trying to copy a CD, I get the following error message: Warning - Bad Master Disc!

I assume it means just what it says. The Disc you are trying to copy is faulty?
Clarify what you are trying to copy. If it is copy protected, A duplicator wont copy it. Or the disc was made in a format incompatible with the master drive you are using. Ive had drives read some discs and another drive that cant read the same disc. Some brands of discs work better on certain drives. Try to use top quality reccomended discs such as Verbatim.

Targer drive not ready.

"Target overflow" just means that the disc being used to make the copy doesn't match in size. "4.7GB" to the master disc. Sometimes this occurs when you make a mistake thinking the disc in the copy slot is a DVD blank but it may be a CD-R blank(by accident) or sometimes the Master disc is a BD-R and trying to copy to a regular DVD-R (won't fit)

"Source drive not ready" is when the Master disc keeps spinning in the attempt to read. The "culprit" alot of times is the brand, or scratched, dirty, corrupted discs.
Make a copy of the master again (if possible and on your PC with a different brand of disc) then use the new Master to make the multi-discs you want.

"Target drive not ready"
is when a disc with information already on it, is in the copier (can't copy over it) sometimes we make mistakes and put the Master in the copier and vice versa : )
or no disc in it at all, and or some sort of incompatible blank media.

I have a 7 disc duplicator by Pioneer and I found that in the last few years since I've had it (since 2005)
I ran into the above situations alot.
I use it as a standalone (not hooked up to any PC etc)

It still works great but I find that was having a brand name issue with the discs; certain discs that it used to read in the Master/Source drive like Taiyo Yuden, Memorex, Ridata, SKMAX, and Phillips, suddenly don't want to read properly when inserted. The discs keeps spinning and then when you press "copy" it says "Target overflow" or "Source drive not ready" I found that solution I mentioned above with the changing of the disc brand helps fix the situation. I didn't want to hurt my brain trying to figure out what it could be as I use my duplicator for business and time is money.

Through trial and error I end up just making duplicates from my PC on different brands (cheaper unknown brands work fine) and then using the "new master" made from these is the only way I can duplicate..weird!

P.S sometimes the lens may need an old fashioned cleaning with a lens cleaner or Dust blower.

Once in a while one or two of the doors get stuck even when all 7 discs are completed...just take a q-tip with vaseline and put it on the track wheel for some lubrication and the door will open up easier.
Just some tips from someone who's had their player a long time

Hope this helps anyone in need out : )
