My motherboard gives 8 beeps and shows no video, I tested with several video cards and gives the same result. when the computer beeps (normal as it recognizes that although the bios), then emits continuous beeps 8, pauses and beeps, there is every indication that the PC operating system loads, because the LED is parpadeand hard drive, but never gets to display video if the screen even bios ma pc Motherboard: Penryn 1600sli-110db. Video Card: G-force 9600GT Memory: Corsair CM2X1024-6400 5-5-5-18

Continious beep codes are caused by the memory (RAM). Try reseating your RAM just plug it out clean it then put it back in. Or try the other memory slots. Just transfer your memory to the other slot if you have an available slot on your motherboard. Or simply buy a new memory (RAM). Just make sure it is compatible to your motherboard. Beep codes means the computer is not reading the memory (RAM) properly. There is no post and no video in your computer because the RAM is not working properly.

My acer veriton desk top is not booting up and giving a beep continues beep also moniter is not displyaing omething

This is likely a result of the computer not recognizing the monitor. During the POST test during startup, the computer will check for a video output. It can range from the video card failing to just not having the monitor plugged in. I would check you connections, perhaps try a different monitor, even a television that has either HDMI, DVI, or VGA input. If that does not fix it, it is likely your graphics card or on board graphics from the motherboard. Is there anything new since the last time the computer worked? How old is your PC?

When my computer my motherboard give 2 large beeps ( seprated by about 3-7 sec ) and then proceed to windows ! is that normal ?

hi,
no it isn't normal. it usually indicates a hardware failure detection. 2 beeps with a pause indicates a video problem. if you have an add in . it might be testing the internall one. if so you can change video options in bios to use the external card only. http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/cs-010249.htm

My dv6-1247 cl when i turn on the power it beep 8 times and the screen does not come on help

Yu will need to determine which BIOS you have a see below
The computer beeps several times
If you hear several beeps from the PC speaker, it means that the computer failed its power-on self test (POST) because a problem was detected. The POST is a procedure that tests several components such as power, BIOS, CPU, memory, and video. Only if all those tests pass, the computer will then allow the operating system to load. But if one or more of these tests fail, beeps indicate a problem and the boot process is halted. These errors are a little more difficult to troubleshoot.
To diagnose the problem, listen to the beeps carefully and write down the sequence. Is it one long beep? Is it several short beeps? How many? Once you have the beep sequence documented, you need to find out what it means. What BIOS do you have? When you first turn on the PC, look at the top of the first screen to find out. Common BIOS types are Award, Phoenix, and AMI.
Award:
1-2-2 Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information Any other beeps Most likely a RAM problemYou can find more detailed information about Award error messages on Award's web site.
Phoenix:
1-2-2 Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information 1-2-2-3 BIOS ROM Checksum 1-3-1-1 Test DRAM Refresh 1-3-1-3 Test Keyboard Controller 1-3-4-1 RAM Failure 1-3-4-3 RAM Failure 2-1-2-3 Check ROM Copyright Notice 2-2-3-1 Test for unexpected interrupts 1-3-4-3 RAM FailureYou can find more detailed information about Phoenix error messages on Phoenix's web site.
AMI:
1 beep Refresh failure 2 beeps Parity error 3 beeps Base 64K memory failure 4 beeps Timer not operational 5 beeps Processor error 6 beeps 8042 - gate A20 failure 7 beeps Processor exception interrupt error 8 beeps Display memory read/write failure 9 beeps ROM checksum error 10 beeps CMOS shutdown register read/write error 11 beeps Cache memory badYou can find more detailed information about AMI error messages on AMI's web site.
If you get beep errors, you should try to think what happened right before they started. Did you add a new piece of hardware? If so, it might be faulty or not installed right. Remove it, then try again. If everything is fine without the hardware, try to reinstall and configure the hardware again. If that does not help, try exchanging it and see if that corrects the problem. If the error persists, narrow it down systematically. Remove everything but the CPU, memory, keyboard, and video card, then boot again. Does the error still occur? If not, then add one piece of hardware and try again. Repeat until one new component causes the error and you now know who the culprit is. If yes, then reseat your CPU, memory and video card and try again. If the error still happens, try replacing the CPU, video card and memory one by one to see if one of them is the troublemaker. If that does not help, you could have a bad motherboard. Check the motherboard carefully for any signs of damage. Also check for shorts, a metallic object could have found its way onto the motherboard, or the motherboard is not installed correctly and touches the case somewhere.

The monitor screen is blank. We switched out monitors and still have the same problem.

This is an indication that you may need to replace your video card.

Hope this helps. :)

I installed everything the CPU, RAM, and everything else. Connected all switches at the right places and the BIOS is on normal operation. I turn on the computer and its a blank screen nothing shows up....

ok, looking at the specifications All I can recommend is the following. double check the Video card to make sure it is properly seated and that it does not exceed the capabilities of the motherboard. 2 Disconnect everything from the motherboard except the CPU and case wiring/power supply and turn the computer on. If the system completes the post test, you will hear at least 1 beep and should hear several for the video card not being connected, then start installing components 1 at a time till you find the one causing the problem. Start with the Video card and then the ram as these are most likely where your problem is unless you have a faulty power supply which will be the problem if you don't get a completed post with nothing else connected.

Motherboard flashes 8 yellow lights then one green light, what does this mean

8 beeps=Your video card isn't working. Make sure it is seated well in the bus. If it still beeps, either the whole card is bad or the memory on it is. Best bet is to install another video card.
1 Long, 8 Short Beeps=Display / retrace test failed. Reset the video card.

Computer will not boot - no signal getting to monitor

Have you check the video card, is it loose, not sitting right, beeps are either memory, video or a bad mobo. here's a list of beep codes; the numbers represent the amount of beeps
1   The memory refresh circuitry has failed 2   Parity errors have been detected in the first 64 KB of memory 3   A failure has occurred within the first 64 KB or memory 4   System Timer failure: Timer 1 on the mainboard does not work properly 5   The CPU has generated an undetectable error 6 8042 Gate-A20 failure: BIOS cannot switch the CPU into protected mode 7   The CPU has generated an exception error 8   The video adapter is missing, or the memory on the adapter has generated a failure 9   The ROM checksum value does not match the value in BIOS 10     The shutdown register for CMOS interrupt channel 2 has failed POST; the system board cannot retrieve CMOS contents during POST 11 Level-2 cache memory has failed the tests, and has been disabled 2 short POST has failed, caused by a failure of one of the hardware tests 1 long, 2 short Failure in video system: a checksum error was encountered in video BIOS ROM, or a horizontal retrace failure has been encountered 1 long, 3 short Failure in video system: the video DAC, the monitor detection procedure or the video RAM has failed 1 long POST procedures have passed

4 seconds long beep

I think that either you have a bad power supply or it is not connected properly. I suppose it could also not be supplying enough power.

Try disconnecting all of the connections to the Motherboard and reconnecting them. Make sure they seat properly. Try a new power supply. You can get a good one from Newegg.com
