I have a 2006 Toyota Highlander Limited with original Panasonic Battery. Purchased vehicle new in Dec. 2005. Know the battery can't last much longer and need to know what is best replacement battery for the buck. Original battery is a Panasonic 80D26L-MF....I don't know anything about cold cranking amps, etc. Any help is appreciated......

This can be very frustrating, I know. Problem is that the clocks in later model vehicles are electronic. A low battery is not likely your problem. These clocks will operate correctly as long as your electrical system has the output of a flashlight battery, or even less.

I recently had the same problem with my new Silverado truck. It would lose about 4 minutes a month and it aggravated my to death trying to change it all the time. I replaced my radio with built-in clock and it works fine.

Not to say that you should go through such extreme measures, but it is sure nice to see the correct time.

There is not a lot due at 60,000 miles as far as regular maintenance. Depending on which engine you have, a timing belt replacement is due at 90,000 miles. (The 2.4L engine is chain-driven) Spark plug replacements are not due until 80,000 miles.

In the meantime, I would have the condition of the engine coolant checked. It should be checked for the freeze protection level as well as the acidity level. Chemical test strips are available at your local parts store for this purpose.

All fluids should be checked for proper levels inlcluding differentials and transfer cases if it is a 4X4. Check and fix any fluid leaks right away. Fluid leaks can lead to rapid deterioration of rubber mounts and hoses as well as damage wiring harnesses and computer sensors.

If the battery is original it should probably be replaced due to the age of the vehicle. If it is not original I would have it tested. Remember NOTHING works on your vehicle without the battery.

The Nav ECU is under the Driver side front seat. This is where the Nav Disc goes into.

fuse panels are located in various positions,under dashboard on left side,under hood near battery,near air cleaner housing,and behind right headlight visually inspect fuses for blown condition

Sorry...thats your only choice...but check with a 4X4 dealership parts counter.
