My hp compaqu nx6110 won't hold time amd date what can i do

Replace the battery.. the internal battery is dead not the big battery under the unit but a watch battery installed on the motherboard.. i know what you mean i hate dead cmos battery and messes up windows clock and stuff..

Your CMOS battery is dead. Replace it.

You'll need to change or have the CMOS battery changed. Its not the main battery, this is a disk shaped mercury cell battery clipped directly onto *********** board.

Normally they're accessed by removing the keyboard and a plate there under.
