Hi,
10 times standby flashing indicates problem of High Voltage Protection and need to check following parts in Sony KP-51WS520 rear projection tv.
Q8014 or Q8013 have shorted replace along with R8051 on D Board
IC8005 is damaged (D Board)
Hope these info will help you. If you have no experience of electronics stuff repair then local tv repairman is an option to get help.

Solution

G1 and G2 boards are ok.

Found Q box was causing loss of DTL MODULE 5v.
Replaced Q box to resolve.

TV Sony KV-29F1E turn-on failure, red standby LED flashes (starts after 10-20 attempts)

When the set ends up flashing the LED, it should be a repeatable count. Can you please report that count here? Also, since the set eventually works, I'd suspect a bad connection or a part that has changed value over time. The blink code will help to narrow down the offending circuit.
