Could not find an IC with that part number on any of the boards. Could not find a fuse with that number also. Could it be something else?

Hi,

You most likely have a defective convergence output circuit. You could try to enter into the menu and see, if the adjustments could help. Unless, you need to get the TV repaired. There are two large IC's on that board, and the part number for both of them is STK4278L. You will also have an open fuse on this board, F901, a 3.15 amp GMA slow blow fuse. Both IC's should be replaced along with this fuse.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

There would be 2 IC's with number STKXXXXX.If still unable to find, revert and i would upload the pics of the same.

    Thanks and Regards

My RCA tv picture is jumping

Vertical jumping may have a vertical hold issue, horizontal may have a horizontal hold issue. Most older tv sets will have some knobs or adjustable screws for vertical and horizontal hold. Turn your set on and check for these knobs on the back of your set and adjust until your picture is in as well as you can get it

Picture looks like it is jumping

Sounds like a vertical sync issue on the chassis board. However you also mentioned the picture moves left to right or vice versa which would suggest a horizontal sync issue. Either issue is not repairable by the DIY. Sync issues must be isolated using test equipment usually found in repair shops. My suggestion push it down a hill and enjoy the show then go buy that flat screen you almost purchased last week.
