I have one of these.
Here you will see how the drill is mounted in the device. Position (b) around the handle and tighten it up untill drill seats firmly in place. Take a speed square, or normal square and eyeball or measure the drill to see if its straight. Use the alignment adjustment (A) to fine tune the drill to get the drill bit straight and square. Tighten up all the nuts holding drill in device and recheck the drill bit for straightness.. Put your work under the drill, press the trigger and lock into place to get the drill to constantly run without finger on trigger, pull down the press lever to drill your hole... Hope this helps!

The age of the drill, I would say that you might need a pair of vise grip or pipe wrench. Hold the top where the bit goes in with the pipe wrench and the nut that threads onto the shaft turn it clockwise with a another pipe wrench, that should loosen it.

The very left-hand end of the drill is the drill chuck. There are three "jaws" protruding from the left-most end. To open the jaws grasp the large black collar with one hand and the the smaller silver collar just behind it with the other hand. Twist these two collars in opposite directions. You have to twist pretty hard. If they won't move, then try the other direction. Once they start to move they will move easily and you will see that the the three jaws begin to separate. Keep going until the jaws have separated enough to insert the wood drill bit, insert the bit, then tighten - good and tight!
Good luck.

Assuming that the chuck has no gear teeth for a chuck key, put a leather glove on one hand, grasp the outer chuck case with drill set for reverse, and apply power which should loosen the chuck. Normally, you just grasp the outer chuck and turn it in a CW (looking at it from the handle end) direction to loosen. Hope this helps!

If you can't get one directly from mftr, try a Batteries Plus store, they have access to thousands of applications

Hi. I'm guessing it is a keyless chuck. I always have to use two hands to tighten mine. Is drill running forward and not in reverse?
