I have a Miele Coffee Machine (built-in) CVA 620-1. I got a message saying the brewing unit is blocked. I removed the waste unit, a procedure that has to be done before you can remove the brewing unit. Then I closed the machine and this time I got another message "Brew Unit Missing" and when I tried to remove the brewing unit it is stuck! as if it is glued to the unit. Not moving at all in any way. Please help!!!!!!

The brew unit has lose parts on left-hand-side, wiggle them up and down. Put the waste unit back, switch off the machine and then turn it on (pull the cord). It worked for me!!!

How do I clear Miele CVA 4075 coffeemaker's Fault 73?

This particular Miele is featured here on Fixya a LOT. These machines need dealer service every 6 to 9 months. They don't tell you this when you buy them! You just pick them up, take them to a service centre and collect it a few days later, fixed and with all new O-rings and seals.

Miele/Nespresso CVA 2660 built-in coffee machine : the waste container fills with water and the quantity of the coffee dispensed is very little

That will be because all the seals in the brew head need replacing. These machines are designed to fail and need maintenance. Boiling hot water, neoprene O-Rings and pressure are doomed to failure. Water is being forced past the seals into the waste container, instead of into your cup.. That particular model is featured here often!

Miele coffee machine CVA4080 coffee grinder works but not well... coffee is coming out the waste in chunks not a fine powder.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to Miele.

This particular machine ends up on Fixya a couple of times every week!

Some Miele machines have a lever to adjust the grind coarseness. Page 27 of the manual below. I would also give it a good clean beforehand to check there is nothing in there that shouldn't be.

CVA 4066 built-in Coffee System. Why doesn't it dispense more than a tiny bit of coffee into a cup?

Just so you know, we are Fixya, we aren't Miele.

You need a seal kit, basically a set of o-rings for the brew head. This machine ends up in Fixya far too frequently!

How can reset my miele cva 620

To reset your Miele CVA 620 coffee machine, you will need to perform a "Reset Water Hardness" procedure. This will reset the machine's water hardness settings and clear any error codes that may be displayed on the control panel.
To perform a "Reset Water Hardness" procedure, follow these steps:
  1. Press and hold the "Menu" and "Coffee Bean" buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
  2. Release the buttons and press the "Menu" button again.
  3. Use the "Coffee Bean" button to navigate to the "Reset Water Hardness" option and press the "Menu" button to select it.
  4. Follow the prompts on the control panel to reset the water hardness settings.
After the "Reset Water Hardness" procedure is complete, your Miele CVA 620 coffee machine should be reset and any error codes that were displayed on the control panel should be cleared.

Miele CVA 620-1 - Brew Unit Block NOT the problem (I think)

anyone know how to reset the male brew gears on the Miele CVA 610 as they currently do not align with the brewer. I have tried the service options to reset to home but the gears still do not align with the brew unit. I reviewed the answer above for the CVA 615 however there is no equivalent connector JP34 on the microprocessor board of the CVA 610 to disconnect. Does anyone know how to force a reset

Miele coffee maker cva 4070

OK. Here's the deal. I struggled with this CVA 4070 (F 73) problem also recently, and even posted a questions in the cyber world about it. I jiggled, re-cleaned the machine, re-read the Miele manual, and scoured the internet for schematic drawings of this brewing unit's insides. No luck. Finally after finding out I'd have to pay $199 just for a service clown to walk in my front door, I said NYET!!!  I must solve by myself. If I can take apart & fix my Dyson, etc, etc, I WILL DO THIS TOO!!  (MUST HAVE COFFEE>>>)
Pull out the brewer, turn it a quarter-turn to your right, and look at the spot where that small black plastic piece -- shaped like a block "M" or block "W" -- should be situated. Pull it out, if it isn't out already. Don't worry about yanking it out or harming these parts, said the Miele troubleshooter guy in New Jersey on the phone. They're "made from the same plastic used in football helmets."  Okey-dokey.
This approx. 1.5" wide, blocky plastic piece is part of the "slide" that takes the brewed coffee grounds into the waste container. When positioned correctly, it looks like a block "W,"  with the "wings" ointing up, and slides in just under a brown 1.5" flat piece. A small, down-facing tab on the brown piece clicks into the "W" piece and holds it in place. The "W" should feel fairly solid, although it is not rigidly in place, as the entire mechanism is a movable system to deposit the grounds in the waste receptacle.
Put everything back inside your CVA 4070 "love" machine, hit "on," and wait for it to go through its warm-up.  No F73 message?  Yeah!  Mission Accomplished. You, like I, have fixed your Miele, saved your family relationships, and saved yourself a bundle from unnecessary service calls.
