My 1995 cadillac seville sls has a problem with the fan running before i start it, causing the check engine light to come on. When the fan stops the light goes off and it starts fine. What should I do?

Something inside the transmission. TCC solenoid/valve could be a cause. Have the codes checked, even if the check engine light isn't on.

Yes. Mine tends to run in the low two hundreds and will sometimes get to 225 before cooling down. I was told that this was they way they ran due to the aluminum engine. I have no idea whether it is true or not, but what I do know is that I have read countless forums from new owners asking about this, including myself at one point, and all the experienced owners tend to say,"Don't worry about it, this is how they run."

Do It Yourself Diagnosis and Repair

It sounds like it may be time for a new fuel filter, try replacing the fuel filter first. The filter has a life of 30,000 miles or one year, if it has not been changed, good chance that it's the fuel filter. Take not that a dirty fuel filter will make your fuel pump run hotter and will shorten the life of the fuel pump which is the more costly repair of the two. Could be the FAN MOTOR, COOLING FAN TURN ON SENSOR, even the PCM. There are 2 fuses . Also check fuse panel under hood in engine compartment

That is a broken or rusted fuel line. It only leaks when the fuel pump is running.
