Toaster Side wont 'start'

I have an LG Model LTM9000 and all the buttons work on the toaster side except the 'start' button. It won't heat. Any obvious suggestions to look for? I am an experienced Eletronics Tech

Thanks! That was it. The little white plastic 'fulcrum' for the switch fell out of its hinge. The hard part was figuring out how to take the darn thing apart!

I would say the door interlock switch (or its mount or wiring) has failed.

This is to prevent it from running when the door is open.

It may be shut, but if the signal from the switch is not present, it will not run.

Is there anyway to fix a toaster/microwave combo? The microwave works its the toaster that doesn't. It goes thru its cycle but no heat.

if you can get the toaster elements it can be repaired but I suspect that as that combo unit is quite old , parts may be hard to come by

When you push start button fuse blows if i disconnect magnetron then its ok would the magnetron be faulty

every possibility that is the case
by disconnecting the magnatron you are disconnecting the circuit that is shorting out
get a quote as the cost will be more than a new unit

All works except toaster elements do not heat up. is there a quick fix?

unplug it and let it sit for a minute. then plug it back in. If that does not work, then its not going to be a quickfix. Rather it will be an internal issue with lots of screws and testing with meters.

It may be the heater element or thermostat / switch.

I would contact LG and see if they offer parts for it.
