I bought a Crane Frog Humidifier from Craigs List in blind faith that it had all its pieces and that all I had to do was plug it in. My husband plugs it in, and turns the "on" switch and the red light in the front comes on. Then what? How do we know it's working? There's a dense smell of the vapo steam inside, that's it. I thought there was a soft hum like a motor or something, and steam that comes out at the top? Did I get jipped? Please tell me all the parts that go with this and if we're not doing something right. THanks so much. I appreciate yall.
The red light indicates that there is no water in it. You need to put water in it, then a green light comes on instead. When the water runs out you will see the light turn red again. You need to fill it about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way up to make it last. You should refill it about once a day or every 2 days depending on how often you use it. But when you see the red light on then you know the water is gone.
