Crane Cow Humidifier Questions & Answers
Cleaning
I also need some information on cleaning, specifically the base. Not sure if I should use soap or if that will affect the nebulizer?
For cleaning the reservoir, just add a capfull of bleach to some water, and swish it around intermittently for about 20 minutes -- rinse until you don't smell bleach anymore.

Humidifier makes a huge noise and no mist
According to the Crane's Troubleshooting section:
The power light is green but there is no mist being emitted:
- Check that there is water in the tank.
- Check for possible lime deposits on the water level sensor or the nebulizer.
- Make sure that nothing blocks the vapor output slots.
- Check that the fan vent on bottom of humidifier is not blocked.
- Empty the humidifier and rinse the water basin with cool tap water and allow to dry for 15 to 30 min.
This next part may or may not be relevant.
Humidifier power light is staying red and not turning green. Or, Humidifier is working then stops:
- Ensure that water level sensor is assembled properly.
- Clean water float.
- Call service center and request replacement water float.
Barring that, here is the service center contact info:

How can you tell if it is working or not, it used
Check the fan area on the base. My spongebob humidifier did the same thing, and then I noticed smoke and sparks coming from the fan area. i am trying to contact Crane for a replacement, but its 2 years old, and warranty is over.

I WAS GIVEN THE COW HUMIDIFIER AS A GIFT WHICH WAS
Hi, Looks like this should be easy to operate. These are the only directions I found for this humidifier:
This Crane humidifier operates with cold tap water. Just fill the 1 gallon tank in the sink (fits most common sized sinks) and switch the unit on. The Cow Humidifier will produce cold mist instantanously. The mist output can be regulated with the control button located at the front.
Hope this helps! Hal

What does the yellow light mean?
when the light changes to yellow it is just adjusting to the newly added water. If you let it run the light should turn back to green. I think the light is only indicative of water level. I've had this humidifier for over a year and only gotten a yellow light once. It turned green after some of the water in the basin drained. Hope this helps
