The computer doesn't know what the camera is without the software. You can download the software from the nikon website. Easier fixes are available. If it is a notebook (laptops arent laptops anymore more) you should have a card reader slot on the left side of your computer. Remove the SD card from the camera and plug it into their computer. Then you'll have the option to import the pictures.
If your camera came with a cd I would install it. If not I would search for and download the drivers for it, if just hooking it up via usb doesnt work. The other course would be to use your computers SD Memory slot to move pictures if it comes with that feature.
Hi, Yellow and white pins cable is called AV Cable, it is to hook camera with TV. It wont hook camera with computer. You need USB cable to connect camera with computer. Required USB cable is available in Sony Accessories Store under following part number.. 319698101 ....
CODE (USB 5P) CONNECTION Thanks.
does ur camera have a sound card and does your computer have a card reader, if so you can download your pics right onto the computer, if not you can purchase a card reader that hooks to your computer. if your usb cable doesnt work maybe try a different one or a different computer maybe the usb port has gone bad. on the computer
To load your digital pictures onto your computer, you will need a card
reader (hooked up to your computer via a USB) and your memory card.
Some cameras allow you to hook a USB right into your camera without
removing the memory card.
If required, you will load your memory card into the card reader.
Your digital media will appear as another drive on your computer. Click
the drive and your photos will appear in a folder on the drive. You can
view your pictures immediately by double-clicking the file. From here,
you can save your pictures directly to any folder on your computer.
Additional notes:
Consider purchasing photo manipulation software like
PhotoShop or Fireworks. Use this software to fix common photo problems
(poor light, etc) or add effects like text and color.
First download the latest drivers for your camera, then turn camera on, then hook to USB. (camera screen will look black) while it is hooked to pc. Then transfer your pictures or sync device with media player
Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
Hi,
Most present day digital cameras are recognizable by a Windows PC as an external removable drive. You have to connect the camera using a USB cable (in some case, a firewire cable) to any of the USB ports of your computer. Give your machine a second or two to recognize and auto-install the needed drivers/software. The PC normally auto displays content of the camera (now recognized as possibly drive "E" or something). Thereafter it is a matter of copy/paste or drag-0n-drop to your preferred folder in your PC (more often My Pictures inside My Documents).
Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turnedout or should you need furtherinformation.
Good luck and kind regards.
