I have a vertical line down the center of the lcd...I purchased new inverter and still the same...I purchased a used lcd and seven vertical lines popped up on the lcd...I plugged the G25 AV513 Qosmio to my desktop monitor and no lines...So would the problem be the LCD or something else.

If the lines appear in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) setup, you are having problem with the LCD.

Here are some parts to check. Either you need to reinsert or replace.
- LCD cable
- LCD inverter
- LCD itself

Note: The LCD inverter fails often than other LCD assemblies.

On all the plasma tvs there are control boards on the lower part of the screen that control the vertical images. If one of the chips on one of the boards fail, have a bad connection, or no ground it will result in a thick black line down the screen.

The vertical lines means you have failing T-CON board, part of the LCD panel assembly, it will get worst, new LCD panel will be needed. Westinghouse uses cheaply made screen like CheiMai, not LG/Philips.

I think your TV have a trouble inside lcd panel
the controller board contains driver IC. Deffective driver IC can cause of line display.



Three reasons why one vertical line accross screen can happen in LCD;

1.The missing signal from the controller IC to
LCD driver.
2. LCD driver IC itself defective
3. Dry contact in the tape carrier package.

Use masking or electrical tape to mark it where the line was located. press it if the line back to normal but when release your hand came back i think it was intermittent. Open the LCD panel


Use robber

Place the rubber on the top of TCP

Gently close back the top casing

Possible loose connection from the inverter to the screen. you can try pushing the edges of the screen cover towords the center working your way around the problem area especially. But it could be just a bad inverter. Can you hook it up to external monitor? That will tell you if problem is before or after inverter.

My Lcd monitor has blue line? How can I solve this problem?
