I have the same problem, but my port has 5.

  • Anonymous Apr 22, 2009

I woke up today, and noticed my phone did not charge at all during the day. I tried a different outlet nothing. My blackberry will recognize that I have it plugged into the charger but it will not take a charge for some reason. I tried my car charger, a red light came on, and I got a picture of a battery on the display.

Shortly after my blackberry turned off. When I turned it back on it would load, and load, and load, then turn off. I had to take the battery out and put it back in to get it to load properly. It's still not taking a charge, and it has 5 prongs inside the charging port.

I've tried two different chargers, multiple outlets, is it my blackberry that's broken?

Sorry to say, I encountered this same problem. I checked the prongs, used different power cords, different outlets, usb cord, and different batteries and yet still nothing worked. The only remedy to this situation is replacing the phone.

Not likely....try to charge the device with another source. ETC USB or travel charger. if you look at the actual charger port itself, count how many gold brads in the port....if you have any less then 5 then the port itself is defective and it will need to be replaced.

Got a new blackberry pearl will not charge is it

Try a different charger (like your car charger instead of your home charger) - make sure while it's plugged in - the display shows that the charger is charging it, blinking - or bars going up or down, or a thunderbolt on the display screen next to the battery power symbol etc

Once you know your charger is working, its probably easiest to find someone else with a BB and ask them if you can trade them batteries for a day to see if it's a bad battery. ( You can usually buy a battery for $5 on ebay, or up to $20 in a cell phone store)

All in all, trade someone for their battery, or their charger - if you dont wanna buy one at first. See if the problem follows your old battery etc..

And if neither solve your problem then its the BB itself. I have called in to the cell company before and let them know we have a BB that will not hold a charge no matter what battery or charger I use... and they usually replace it under warranty as long as its less than 12 months old, and the white squares in the battery compartment are still white.

Batter wont hold a charge more then one day not useing blue tooth or flash plz help

The battery is defected you need to replace it you can order new batteries online but if your phone is under warrenty then you could probably get a free battery ;) or it could drain like that if you have applications open all the time that you never close or you are in an area that your blackberry keeps looking for a stronger signals this usualy kills a battery really fast.

Blackberry pearl won't turn on

There are no special ways of turning on the Blackberry.

Simply power on - it is fully charged - if this doesn't work, remove the battery for a couple of seconds and re-try power on.

Blackberry pearl 8120 not holding charge and thinking mechanism

BEFORE ANYTHING !!!! use the desktop software to backup your data on the BB (if you can) and save the file to the desktop. next go to https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=577BCC914F9E55D5E4E4F82F9F00E7D4 you need to download (use pull down menu) blackberry desktop software 4.6 and the blackberry pearl 8120 smartphone. install the desktop software first then the device software.. this can take maybe an hour (not including the download time)

Blackberry Pearl will suddenly only hold charge for 4 hours

Hi,

Ok two seperate issues:

1) Your Device battery is dying or you are using Voice calls too much,

2) If this is a work device then ask your IT administrator to activate you on a 'Blackberry Enterprise server', You will need an account. If this is not a work device and you are using it as end user then you don't need to be on "Blackberry Enterprise server".

Check that your Network signal is strong and you have "GPRS" or "3G" showing at the top right hand corner?

I Hope this helps, please do rate my solution,

Thanks.

My blackberry pearl 8100 wont turn on

I have an answer for the 3-2 red light blink w/black screen. Remove the battery, hold the end call button and put the battery back in. The red light should stay on for a while now. Push and hold the call button and alternate with the end call button untill the hourglass shows. Allow some time to boot up. I stumbled upon this, so if this doesnt work, try simmilar procedrues. I did get mine to work. Good Luck, dont give up, it flashes that 3-2 code for a reason.
