The sound on my laptop is not good enough and i need to to boost the sound quality . My Vio model no is " VGN-CR23G/R" AND CURRENTLY I AM USING WINDOWS 7

Most likely your sound quality is limited due to the small laptop speakers that come with laptops. Your best option is to use either external speakers such as those used with a desktop or to use earphones. If your volume is just not loud enough, you can try using VLC media player. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/. This program boosts the sound out put while playing different forms of media. Other then these, you would need to invest in an external sound card that connects via usb or firewire to improve sound quality. These can be very pricy.

I don't have a sound card.but how can i connect logitech Z-5500 speakers to my pc

Since Logitec Z-5500 is a 5.1 Speaker System you need to purchase a Sound Card to be able to connect it with your pc. You can get a Sound card starting with a price tag of 20 Pounds.
Hope this will help you solve your problem Best Regards NextDoorNerd

From the list below which one of them is the best option to go? 1-Creative T6160 2-Logitec x-530 3-Logitec x-540

If you have the money, the 540 will give you the best bang, and if you want to spend less, go for the Creative.
All 3 sets perform with about the same quality, so it comes down to room size, and how much volume you want to extract from it. Quality of sound will be more dependent on the sound card than on the speakers.

What's the best sound card?

Sound Blaster is certainly a good name when it comes to sound cards, they've been around forever. If you're looking for quality audio and full use of your 5.1 speakers, SB live 5.1 will do the trick.

Abit kn8 mb port not working

Great--I'm thinking the quality might have something to do with the speakers. One thing I tried and really liked is a USB headset. They are not very expensive and the sound quality beats the little microphones you get and the sound in the ear pieces is pretty good, too. Mine was made by Logitec.

Connect BX8A speaker to PC

Hello waddragon,

First, let's start with the BX8a. Those are powered speakers (built-in amplifier in each) so, you do not need a pre-amp. What you need to connect them to your computer is a 3.5mm to XLR cable OR a 3.5mm to 1/4" TRS cable, also known as 3.5mm to two 1/4" mono plugs (the back of the BX8a has inputs that accept either type). Cables are available at most any electronics stores. Make sure you buy a long enough cable to run from the back of the computer to where the speakers will be.
It sounds that you only have one BX8a which means you'll be listening to only one channel of the stereo output. In any case, make sure before connecting the speaker(s) to the computer that speaker power is off and volume control is at minimum. Connect the 3.5mm cable end to Line Out 1 jack of the X-Fi sound card and either the XLT or TRS ends to the speaker(s) input(s). Play some audio content on your computer, turn on speaker(s) and slowly increase volume to a safe level. Everything should work fine.
Let me know how it goes.
