My BB bold 9700 has suffered a total power failure. It worked before i slept last night but i knew something was wrong when the phone alarm didn't wake me up this morning. I tried switching it on but it just wouldn't come on. I have tried charging the battery, I have swapped batteries with a colleague's and it still didn't work. I tested my own battery on my colleague's and it worked so my battery is OK. Any suggestions pls???

Lots of battery issues with the Bold. Try taking the battery out, keeping it out and connecting to PC with USB. Do any lights come on? Red light should appear. Put battery in while connected to USB.
Another fix that I found for a friend-leave the battery out of the unit for a day-put it in and plug in power cord or USB. It worked.

keeping it plugged in shouldn't have hurt the battery. i would return it if you have a warrenty left... otherwise i would connect to bb desktop mngr and reset to factory settings.(origional settings your phone came with)

you more than likely need service books. i have the same phone and have delt with the exact same issue. first take out the battery with the phone on and leave it out for 45 seconds. next open your messages and delete all that you can. you can highlight the date in your inbox and select menu and then delete prior and it will empty your inbox. this will work! thank you!!
