I own a GA-K8N-ProSLI Motherboard from Gigabyte. When I power it on, it boots normally till it gets past the POST. Afterwards, it just completely locks up and all hardware buttons cease to function (Power, Reset). I have no peripherals plugged in except VGA, HDD, Monitor and Keyboard.

    Just wanted to add: I have switched power supplies. In fact, I changed cases completely thinking that I fried the Hardware buttons

Remove the hdd and try again. If now you can enter the BIOS and check that everything is correctly recognized and configured then the hdd has died, replace it. If it's the same then start by checking the power source, followed by the memory and the CPU. If all these are functioning then the problem is in the motherboard itself - unfixable, replace it.

Drivers for Gigabyte ga-k8n pro-sli for Windows 7 needed, please? Can you advise where I can get them, please?

Unfortunatelly there are no drivers for your motherboard for Windows 7. Here is the official link to check by your own. Since you insist on using this motherboard I advice you to try to use the Windows xp set of drivers. In most of the cases there are no significant conflicts.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

2 GB DDR2 on Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H Motherboard

Hello

That's normal condition. Probably your RAM shares it's capacity with internal video card (which uses the whole 256MB)

Gigabyte Ga-K8N Pro Windows XP Installation

Download "MEMTEST86+" from the Internet.
One version boots from a diskette;
another version boots from a CD-R (that you have created).

Either way, make MEMTEST do a "full" test of the RAM in your computer -- bad RAM can cause "unpredictable" crashes.

Can a Gigabyte K8N Pro SLI mobo support a PCIe 2.0 video card?

Hi Rachacha!

I have lait a few moths.
Off course, you can use the pcie 2.0 card on pcie 1.0-1.1 mobo, but the card effiency is only 90%, because the mobo have not enough power for the card.

CMOS battery drains after one startup. Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI

OK lets see here! Make sure your CMOS jumper is set properly on the board(Set to Normal) or Did you configure your bios after flashing the bios(going into bios and Load Optimized Defaults!)? or I don't think it would be another device in the system, but you can try troubleshooting by starting up with only what you need to run the machine (Mobo, memory harddrive, keyboard and mouse) then one by one adding devices back! or Did you have problems like this b4 you flashed the bios! Try flashing the bios back to an older version! post back if anything new or if i'm way off! Good Luck regards, babb
