This is the exact specification of the viode card for the Veriton 5500G ( Intel® 845G on-die VGA with DVMT 2.0 technology, Maximum VGA shared memory reaches 64MB ) or you can click on this link to view all the specification for this model.
Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...
Its possible that your video card is not compatible with your motherboard. Yes, this sometimes happens, the board manufacturer needs to update their BIOS if this kinds of things happen. Another possibility is that you have a bad graphics card. If its Brand new then its probably a lemon. Go to your friends house and test your graphics card and see if it works. This would isolate the problem.
Make sure you have the latest driver updates for your graphics chipset.
Also, have you checked your task manager to see if your system resources are being strained. If so you may want to optimize your startup configuration to eliminate unnecessary programs running in the background.
I would check for the latest drivers first though.
Specs sheets for an Acer Veriton 5200 says that it has one AGP 2X/4X expansion slot, therefore the answer to your query would be a yes. Even if your add-on video card is 8X, it would still work however the card would downgrade itself to only $4X.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
