Dell inspiron 1525 does not power up. i powered

Press and hold the power button. It sill shut down completely. If this fails, just remove the battery.

Try taking the battery out then holding the power button down for 30 seconds (this clears the power in the machine), then power back on and hopefully should work.

Try removing the battery and just powering on the laptop using the AC adapter. If it powers on normally without the battery then you need a new battery.

Since it sounds like an issue with the Power first try to release flea power.Disconnect the charger,remove battery,press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds.Reconnect the battery and charger.Turn on system and check if it turns on. here are some troubleshooting steps: like before remove the battery and the AC adapter, then connect just the AC, see if the LED on the adapter goes out or stays on. If it goes out, see if another adapter (known good is available) or see if you can try one at Bestbuy or such. If the system powers on, then replace the AC adapter.
If no power with a known good AC adapter, then the failure is likely the motherboard or the power board. You can try the powerboard 1st

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and had the same exact problem. I finally called Dell and they sent a tech out. They replaced my power cord and all the software. The reason for this is because Dell Inspirons has a default in the AC cords. Sounds like the AC power cord is the problem. You could find someone who has this cord and test your Inspiron with it or try calling Dell! It worked for me.

Usually this happens when the vista boot loader fails. During boot up, keep tapping F8 and then select Disable Automatic Restart... and get the stop error code which usually starts with 0x

check the dc power jack connector, open the board. but if under warranty don't open it, bring to warranty..

On the long term, a power adapter with a bigger amperage can damage battery and battery charger.

Better to get an adapter with same specs as the 65/70W one , or an original replacemant:
