Have the same problem when trying to play discs. Get an H02 error most of the time. Occasionally it will play an audio CD, but mostly it won't play anything. It seems that some folks have paid Panasonic to repair their players that show this error.....but the problem comes back. Hope someone has a better fix than replacing a bad spindle motor with a newer one that will go bad shortly. This is a great sounding player with a super picture....wish it worked properly.Have the same problem when trying to play discs. Get an H02 error most of the time. the is not able to read the disk that's why you get that error message.the cause of error reading disk are busted dvd lens and the spindle motor it is the motor that holding the disk and spins .first try to replace the motor you can buy that in an electronics supply store next is try to replace the lens
i think the problem is an accumulation of dust. try cleaning it out with a can of compressed air, or if you dont have that, by blowing on the lens gently.
In line with the other Panansonic DVD players, the error seems to relate to the internal drive machanism getting stuck.
To fix you just need to carefully take the back off (disconnect power source first!), locate the drive cogs for the lens machanism and give the a couple of turns. Also a blast from a air can will help get rid of any dust build up. Pop the back cover back on and you should be working.
Looking at the other Panasonic threads on the site, this may happen on a regular basis especially as the unit gets older (and the crud builds up).
This could be the laser going or a dirty track. I suggest that you first clean the laser gently. If this doesn't work you must take the player apart and clean the track that the laser moves on along with everything around it (keeping in mind that the laser is fragile).
