Panasonic dvd player, wont play error code HO3 keeps coming up, took it back to shop they wont help as cant find receipt

On my DVD-LV50, I was able to re-initialize and fix a different error (error code H05). It might work for you, too.

With no disk in the player, press and hold these buttons for 4 seconds:
  1. Back skip -- [ |<< ]
  2. Pause -- [ || ]
  3. Play -- [ > ]
The screen will go blank, then say "Initialized."

After that, it worked like new.

I hope that helps.

Error code HO3

Hi,

On most Panasonic, error code HO3 indicates a mechanical problem, more specifically, the cradle that supports the laser eye could not traverse along its patch. Corrective action requires opening the unit, cleaning the slider bar, plastic cogs, worm gear/drive. It may help to use a can of compressed air and re-lubricate appropriate parts. Since the unit is open and expectantly dust would be swirling after the use of the compressed air, it may be to your advantage to swab/clean the lens itself prior to closing.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Code h03

Hi the code HO3 relates to their being a problem with the laser you could try using a lense cleaner and see if its just dust or something like that failing that its going to be getting the laser replaced let me know if you need further assistance.
If you type in your search box this
DVD-LS90 Portable DVD Player with screen HO3
then search this will then list a load of sites that cover your dvd player and will also tell you what that error code means have a look and if you was getting it repaired then their should be a few sites that are selling the parts you need ok
