Same problem, started intermittently, then no picture at all. It took many calls to Sharp, including to 2 supervisors, but they finally admitted there was a bulletin on this and sent out a service man with the bulletin and parts. Half hour later the TV is perfect - Sharp covered it under warranty even though the set is 6 years old. They needed to replace 6 screws, part # LX-BZ2315TPZZ and the inverter unit Part # RDENC2266TPZE. Keep at it with Sharp until they fix it for you, you shouldn't have to do this yourself!

I have the same model 3yrs old. Your problem is a loose contact on a circuit board. Unplug the tv and remove the back cover. Remove the circuit board on the opposite side of the input plug. Clean the mating surface of the circuit board and the mount, reinstall the circuit board and tighten the screws. This is where the lost contact is occuring. Reinstall the back cover. Thats it. good luck and happy watching.

After calls to Sharp, they wanted me to take the TV to local service shop. The service shop wanted a flat fee just to look at it. As the TV was almost five years old now, I figured it would be cheaper to either; A). fix it myself or B). buy a new TV for about the cost of the repair at the shop. So, basically it was a Win-Win for me. I was going to a get a TV one way or another.Repairing this problem yourself is not difficult. The problem is the three inboard screws on the inverter board. They become loose over time and this will will prevent the back light from staying on. The solution is to re-tighten them using some blue "Locktight". I've attach a couple of photos showing the location of these screws. My Sharp LC32D40U went black yesterday, I can - decarpentier_0.jpg

It's been almost three years since I posted this fix and my Sharp TV is going strong! Sharp should have provided this fix for free as it was a manufacturing defect!

It may be a problem of your picture tube. Check if it is and get it replaced. When having a new one, if you are able to locate a second hand picture tube of any old televisions which was discarded due to problems not related to picture tube (display problems) try having it. It is a bit risk, but older picture tubes are far more better in quality than new ones.

No power on sharp aquos. no lights nothing.

Sounds like a power supply issue, very unusual for LC32D40U. Part number for the power supply: A3Y101E240.

My screen shows black you can hear the computer

The fault sounds like a invert problem, the inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp which provides the backlight or a faulty CCFL lamp. If you see a dim image when you look at the LCD screen at a sharp angle then this confirms this diagnostics.

Problem with my Aquos lc32d40u

Your inverter/lamps are bad. Those are only available with the LCD panel as an Assembly, and that is worth more than the TV.
