Hi, I have a compaq nc6400 laptop. When I press the keys on the keyboard they do not work and I have to press then real hard for an alphabet to appear. Sometimes when I press hard just that one alphabet keeps typing over and over like a chain and its difficult to stop it. Please help.

It could be a few things. Your laptop could need more Ram or has a virus or even have a Hard drive that is going bad. most of the time if the Hard drive is going it will give you blue screen Errors

It sounds like the PC had a CD in the drive eject the CD with the Laptop on and restart it

Make sure that your keyboard is set on 'US International' in localisation settings.

bluetooth require drivers and so if your laptop doesnt have appropriate drivers it wont work
try downloading,installing or updating your drivers

You could try press the F11 key which is normally the number lock key top left hand side of the keyboard

or if that dont work try the Fn blue key bottom left of keyboard at same time as the F11 key

so either F11

or

Fn+F11

do you have a manual for your laptop because hopefully that will explain things about your laptop

if not you could download one from the laptop manufacturer and you will need to save the manual to your desktop and install adobe reader to be able to read it Free Download

type into your search the name of your laptop plus manual or support

if your laptop was a acer www.acer.com if a hp www.hp.com if a compaq www.compaq.com etc etc then go to support/downloads type in your make model and operating system and look for the manual

The keyboards on laptops are somewhat fragile, and would be the first thing that should be tried. They are not too hard to change, and relatively inexpensive, about $15 on ebay. You could plug in a external, USB keyboard to use temporarily too.

In my HP laptop new one keyboard keys A S D F & J K L& enterkey are not responding but G & H in this line are working properly. how can i solve this problem?

(FuNction key) A keyboard key that works like a shift key to activate the second function on a dual-purpose key, typically found on laptops to reduce keyboard size. It is different than the function keys F1, F2, etc. It is also a real nuisance when the PageUp and PageDn keys are placed on the Up and Down Arrow keys and have to be activated by pressing the Fn key.
