Lg cu500 alright i tried this mass storage removal and everything and it let my phone read my 2gig card alright. but now it reads my card as only 1 byte of memory and 0 bytes of memory free and to top all this off there is no music on this lg cu 500. now is there a workable solution to all this because if there is let me know about it.

When it displays insert memory card for connecting as mass storage device, switch off the phone and reconnect so the phone will perform as a memory storage device.

The easiest solution is to leave it as 'mass storage', then navigate to it, my computer, mass storage, ect, Then just right click & open it. Now open your pictures, music ect. on your PC, drag & drop to the phone. That's how I do mine. You will be able to drop them into whichever folder you want. You might have to drop them into a folder on the phone then copy & paste them to the SD card after you disconnect from the PC. If you have more questions leave a comment, I'll be happy to help. go to your main screen by opening your phone or pressing the end call button. next press 277634#*#. this will take you to the phones test mode. go down to port settings and press okay. next go down to mass storage and press okay, then go to remove mass storage and press okay. it may take some playing around with but it will eventually pick up your card. let me know if this helps.

You should really think about carving it into the back of the phone, because you'll need it a lot. About once a week, my CU500 decides that it isn't going to acknowledge my micro SD card, and I have to go into that menu to "Port Setting" -> "Mass storage" exit out, then go back in, "Port Setting" -> "Mass storage remove" exit out again. Only then does it recognize my memory card again. Rather irritating when I've got a GB of music on board that I want to listen to.

Did you able to see Removeable Disk after connecting to PC?
If not then there are two possiblities...
1. Check the setting of USB mode at
Connectivity > USB Connection Mode > Mass Storage
It should 'Mass Storage'.
2. Even though Mass Storage is there and you are still not get Removeable Disk then replace Phone's memory card with SandDisk's Memory card.

Once you verify above two points you will get Removable Disk, and then you can make Copy/Paste to download songs into your phone.

Hi all. Just fixed this with my phone. Copy all the data you have on the portable storage device to a new folder on your desktop (just create one). Then open 'my computer', right click on the device, then click format. After that it will pull open a new window and it will have a format form option. It will say either FAT or FAT32. My sister's LG Trax wouldn't read the FAT32 but would the FAT. Then reload the card and give it a whirl. It worked for me on my cu 500 too.

YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO DOWNLOAD DRIVERS FOR THE PHONE FIRST. THAT IS WHY IT ISN'T RECOGNIZING IT. ONCE YOU HAVE THE DRIVERS INSTALLED, IT SHOULD READ THE PHONE WHEN HOOKED UP.
